I realized I haven't posted anything on what classes I have this semester! Let's change that.
Leisure Education is an interesting class. It mostly about how to educate people on leisure opportunities and what they can gain from them. It's with the ever so lovely Navar, minimal sarcasm there, and we do a lot of paperwork which is weird for a TR class. For the most part though, it's decently interesting and I'm learning a lot.
Human Sexuality Enough said. Professor Tobin is hilarious and I'm ridiculously glad that I got into that class. I think if I had to take another Sullivan class I would have cried. We talk about sex! It's pretty bomb.
Inclusive Recreation is my night class. Only having it once a week I'm still a little confused as to what the class is all about still. We've talked about adaptive equipment, made brochures for workshops, and we're working on grant writing right now. Heather is an awesome teacher. Just last class she stayed after letting the class out early to talk to me and 2 other girls about questions we had, then proceeded to shoot the breeze with us for another like half hour. Gotta love it.
Leadership & Supervision in TR has been pretty good so far. Holland is a great guy. He'e pretty much a big bear of a black man. I have him for both classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I'm totally okay with that. The class is kind of business-ey in the sense that we look at managerial styles, but fit it all back to TR. We started watching a movie called 'The Warriors' from like the 70s. I'm buying it.
Populations is the precursor to the pops class I took last semester. It's the same concept just looking at different disabilities. Holland is the teacher for it and again, totally okay with that. Love that man.
Orientation to Internship is another class I only have once a week, and thank goodness it's a pass/fail. It's not hard, but we just have so much stuff to do! Ugh. It's kind of freaking me out a little thinking about internships, but at the same time I'm glad I get the prep for it.
YAY classes! :]
