I'm sure she is. Evita is pretty much her third child. *hugs*
What did the vet say in terms of pain and expectancy?

Yeah. She is *such* a true member of our family, it feels like I'm loosing one of my own. Well, I guess I am.

Vet didn't say much about pain, except that he'll give us a new prescription to up her dosage as the pain gets worse. But I don't even know HOW much pain she's in right now or how its manifesting itself.

Expectancy... I don't know. I looked up some stuff this morning about mammory tumors and whatever I'm finding that mimics her symptoms just shatters me.

Well, who knows. Its best to be prepared, but Belle has pulled through all sorts of horrors. Not that I am trying to give false hope. Each time the vet tells us she only has X long to live I believe them and it hits me really hard each time, and each time she goes to the vet I'm mentally biting my nails. I know what you are feeling now. How is Evita doing? Aside from the lump is she doing okay? I know she had been acting sluggish a week or so ago.

The vet didn't give me any time frame on life expectancy, I think I might call back and ask him his opinion on that.

I just don't know anymore. If she HAS had this tumor for awhile and its finally hitting late stage, this explains the weight loss and the sluggish behavior from her. She is just so so so skinny. And she has ups and downs, good days and bad, I don't know how I'm supposed to know when a bad day is just a bad day or if its "something more". This morning she was hungry, last night she was *all about* the walk, today she's sleeping in the kitchen where its cool. Oh and earlier she was outside and eating grass like she was a cow. lol.

Sounds like she is still being an active puppy. I agree, with the weather changes its hard to gauge the sick vs the its to friggin hot to move. On the one hand you don't want to be rationalizing but on the other you don't want to be freaking out over something that can easily be fixed.

I'd definitely call the vet with a list of questions. There is always the second opinion route.

Well since she is too old to operate (also we just don't have the money)... I did ask if there was anything we could give her medication-wise to at least inhibit the growth of the tumor...and he said no, she was too far along... well... that doesn't really instill a sense of optimism ( ... )
