[Action] - Rescued from the Maid Cafe... (backdated to sometime Saturday afternoon)

Kiku found it strange how profoundly quiet the world was with no power. Even the normal sounds of daily life were being swallowed and muffled by the snow. For most of the journey across town to Willem's apartment, the only thing that could be heard was the gentle clicking of the bicycle chain and the soft crunch of their footsteps. Likely, it was a good thing they were not meeting with anyone out on the streets. Not having been prepared for record snowfall in the way of winter wear, Kiku had supplemented his wardrobe with one of the Christmas mantles on his shoulders and a maid headdress to cover his head. Better to be warmer than not, but...he was glad Willem was understanding. Especially of the cat ears. At least he'd had the presence of mind to bring some gloves.

The quiet that he'd become accustomed to was shattered almost instantly at the moment they crossed the threshold into his rescuer's apartment, however, in the form of an appreciative Italian blur. After much babbling and prying  free of limbs (with the help of Willem), he was able to ascertain that he had saved the boy's lost cat. He had somehow also earned the boy's blind devotion, which he wasn't quite sure he wanted.

With a little settling, the distribution of food and (thankfully) warm tea, and a quiet exchange of greeting with the other temporary member of the household, Kiku was finally starting to get the feeling back in his toes.
