Helping Japan

Hi guys, partly for my own reference, and partly to share with anyone who would like to contribute, here are some useful links for helping with relief work in Japan with regards to the recent earthquake/tsunami:

Direct donation links to Japanese organisations- provided by the Embassy of Japan:

Webpages with links of organisations and things you can do to help. Many of these website also offer suggestions to people who are IN Japan right now:

International organisations that are helping out:
http://www.doctorswithoutborders.org/
http://www.icrc.org/ - Many local Red Cross/ Red Crescent agencies will probably be organising fund raisers and other ways to help. Please do check with the organisations within your own country

If you are in Singapore, please do check out:

If you want your donation to specifically be for the Japanese Disaster Relief Fund, please look at their website to see how to do that. I would also really recommend donating locally if you are donating a small amount, do not have a credit card or can not write cheques. Both the Singapore Red Cross and Mercy Relief accept donations in person - OF ANY AMOUNT. So please do donate.

My friend's colleagues and classmates at Tokyo University have come up with a guide in case of emergency, translated over the past few hours into fifteen languages. Translation to other languages is also currently in progress. Please do share this if you know people who are in Japan and may need some assistance in their local language. If you wish to help with translations, please contact them directly.

Feel free to spread the links here! The more people know and donate, the better. Pray for Japan.
