There are two food smells that make me want to cut my nose off -- Macaroni and Cheese, and Spicy Chicken Wings. So I work with an office full of people whose favorite foods are... yeah. But any food smell when it's NOT lunch makes me angry because I don't want to smell spaghetti and meatballs at 10AM.

I never understood how people get away with Nail Polish Remover at work, btu they do.

I'd like to elaborate a bit on my additional answer:

Carrying on [and on and *ON*...] about the same boring-as-hell personal crap with everyone who asks "How are you?" All other things - including work that needs to get done - gets ignored in favor of the Story.

*seethes*

[yes, I might be at work now...]

LOL. I was once told that when someone asks casually, "How are you?!" they're just being polite and don't actually WANT an answer, so I'm amused when people go into tirades. ;)

I could probably do one of these about riding on the bus. Let's see, there's:

• Creepy old guys who hit on me.
• People who sit way to close.
• Kids who poke me.
• Men who bathe in cologne.
• Women who smell like that lovely combination of perfume and stale cigarettes.

:/ The joys of public transportation.

The worst thing about the bus are people who STINK, and crazy people who hit on you. I will never forget the crazy guy named Derrek who gave me his number on a bus.

People who sit/talk too close weird me out. I'm a big fan of personal space.

And kids poke you!? Ugh.

I'm still stuck on SCHOOL bus (must...get...car) and thus there are no poles to hang onto when the bus gets crowded. We're expected to sit three to a seat. :/

To me that's the definition of "to close." :P

On the other hand, the creepy old guys hitting on you? Are not QUITE as much of a problem on a school bus. ;]

speaking of 'too close' - I hate hoverers. People who stand right over/behind you. Drives me up the wall.

maybe you remember a girl I shared a room with at work and complained about quite a lot? well... she ate VERY stinky food at her desk, started every day at work with doing her make up, not only took long breaks but pretended that they weren't breaks in the first place and when she finally started doing her work again she was sighing heavily and reminding EVERYONE how overworked she is (in comparison to all the rest of us, of course). she gossiped, but whispering was beneath her - she not only gossiped... she had an opinion how to improve someone personal life and shared it, whether you were willing to listen or not. to be fair she didn't do more personal phone calls than the rest of us but email forwards... lots of them... with SOUND! and when she enjoyed said sound she played it OVER and OVER again *headdesk ( ... )

I try not to complain at work about how much work I have because I know I spent a bit of time on the internet, but people who go on an on about how much work they do make me want to kick them in the face. My sister does that. She acts like because her schedule is 6:30AM-2PM that somehow her job is HARDER.

Your ex office-mate sounds like a royal pain, I'm glad you got to ditch her. And thankfully, they've at least turned the radios down a notch since the morning talk-show crap is over.
