deathly hallows response & a drabble

I’m not a great reviewer and I’m too worn out from it to argue about theories and stupid fic-obsessed morons, or stupid shippers, so I’ll try to make a coherent list and try to keep things in order, but I doubt that’ll keep and I doubt I’ll get them all.

Moments that made me emotional:
- Dudley’s handshake with Harry, making them equals
- Harry looking back into the cupboard one last time
- Hedwig’s death, because it was an unexpected loss
- The seven Potters, and that they’d all risked their lives for him
- Thinking Hagrid had been lost
- George’s ear and knowing the twins could now be told apart
- Hermione’s charms on her parents, making her an orphan
- Ron’s enchantment of the ghoul - that he’d LEARNED something (and continued to learn from Harry and Hermione and others and stopped slacking)
- Ginny kissing Harry in her bedroom
- "Parents should never leave their children!"
- Mad Eye’s Eye on Umbridge’s door
- Ron REALLY TRYING to make the rain stop
- The trial at the Ministry
- Ron’s splinching and Hermione and Harry’s horror - the idea that any of the three could actually die during this hit home for me
- Ron leaving and Hermione running after him
- Hermione and Harry’s silence during the time Ron’s gone
- The trip to Godric’s Hollow, seeing the house and the memorial (a war memorial)
- Harry’s wand snapped in half
- Ron’s return and the entire sequence with the locket and finally understanding that his fears of being inadequate were unfounded
- Hermione pounding Ron upon his return, so scared and Harry watching them
- Ron hearing Hermione’s voice through the device Dumbledore gave him
- Harry seeing that Ron and Hermione probably fell asleep holding hands
- Luna’s bedroom. "friends friends friends friends friends"
- Draco’s constant fear and submission. I’d never felt for Draco as I did during this
- Hermione’s torture and Ron’s madness
- Wormtail letting Harry go and killing himself
- Dobby’s death. Harry digging the grave with no magic and Ron joining. The dressing of Dobby "The free house elf"
- Harry’s calm during his questioning of the Goblin and Ollivander
- Teddy Lupin’s birth/Harry as Godfather, and the fear in the pit of my stomach for his parents
- The "mudbloods" in Diagon Alley
- Neville welcoming them in Hogsmeade, knowing he’d kept up Dumbledor’s Army
- Everyone rallying for Harry. "[It’s about time Slytherin chose who’s side they’re on]"
- Ron wanting to save the house elves and Hermione kissing him
- Snape dying looking into Harry/Lilly’s eyes, and giving Harry the memories
- The memories, which didn’t redeem him, but fleshed him out in a way where I could understand fully and though I cannot forgive him, I can understand him
- Snape loved Harry - produced a patronus for him
- Percy’s return (I fully expected him to work for Voldemort) and his apology to his parents, his fighting alongside his brothers and Harry
- Fred’s death. Now there WERE no "twins"
- Lupin and Tonks death: lived together, loved together, died together
- Lupin and Tonks x 10 because I couldn’t believe it and kept re-reading hoping I’d misread and they were JUST sleeping
- Knowing the Marauders were together again
- Colin Creevy… Oliver Wood carrying him
- Harry leaving, passing Ginny and GINNY FEELING HIM PASS
- The Patronus scene, “Does it hurt?” “No, it’s quick…”
- Harry walking into the clearing and not raising his wand.
- The wiggling baby-thing that was Voldemort while Harry talked calmly with Dumbledor
- Narcissa asking about her son, playing along with Harry’s "death"
- Hagrid carrying Harry
- Neville attacking Voldemort / HOGWARTS attacking the Death Eaters
- NEVILLE DECAPITATING NAGIMI!!!
- McGonagall, Trewlaney, Sprout, Flitwick battling
- "NOT MY DAUGHTER, YOU BITCH!" and the ensuing death of Bellatrix
- The confrontation between Voldemort and Harry and the truth of the Elder Wand
- Voldemort being defeated, once again, by Expelliarmus and a backfired curse
- Draco's family in the midst of Hogwarts, just happy to all be alive and together
- Harry choosing to keep his own wand
- The Full Cheese Epilogue… ALL OF IT
- Harry getting to see his own sons off to Hogwarts and knowing they’ll be safe and that they’ve had the childhood he’d never had.

I absolutely loved this book and will probably be giving it a second read soon on a day where I can have more privacy and mourn properly . Or starting from the beginning and working through the journey.

Title: Fulfilled
Notes: Drabble, Deathly Hallows, SPOILERS

The first time he held his godson was at the boy’s parent’s funeral.

His small head of hair was steadily changing from purple to bright pink and Harry stared into eyes that carried both the knowing glance of the boy’s father and the twinkle of mischievous spunk of his mother. He held him securely, his eyes and arms demonstrating a promise to keep him safe, to love him, teach him.

Teddy Lupin gave Harry a recognizable smirk as his hair turned jet black and his eyes glowed an emerald green, a scar momentarily faded onto his forehead in silent understanding.
