I'm Done!!!!!
Well...I'm done until January. lol
I just took my last exam for the Fall semester. Next semester will be my last (*crosses fingers*), and then I am done with college. At least my Bachelor's Degree will be done. I will probably get my Master's Degree at some point in the future; probably after I have paid off the student loans I have accumulated during the past 4 years. I was lucky in that I was able to get a lot of grants and scholarships, so I don't have as much money to pay back as most college students in this country.
I shouldn't complain, really. I like college as an experience. I like learning new things, though I certainly don't believe you have to go to school to do that. That's why I'm looking forward to the next stage in my life. I am looking forward to learning new things that cannot really be learned from textbooks and professors.
The average person changes careers 5 times in their lifetime. Five. And that's not 'jobs', that is careers. I intend to have some freedom before I tie myself down to something. I want to travel, volunteer, etc. Of course I will have to have some source of income to be able to do those things, but I'm just responsible for myself and I'm fortunate in that I know I can stay with my Mom for a while (paying rent of course, which she doesn't expect, but I'd feel guilty not doing). I have seen way too many people put off the things they really want to do in their life until they are 'settled', 'established', or God forbid 'retired'. I can understand that, but more often than not that day never comes. I'd rather take some 'me-time' now when I can do so. I think my life (not to mention my sanity) will be much better for it.
