Looking out the window on a chilly april day

What an update! Years in the making! Dozens of drafts discarded, hundreds of hours spent in deep contemplation!

.......

So I'm still sitting in the Writing Studio. Haven't moved in years, as a matter of fact, although since I've been here the furniture's changed, and Tiffany made it her pet project to paint and take trips to Ikea to update the look of our space. Kinda neat. And we have laptops now, too. Just shows how public university education at the grad level continues to improve upon itself, which should, at the very least, mean we can look forward to the molding of even more powerful and influential minds.

Like mine!

So, in August (end of July rather), I gear up for my life's next major phase---Clemson University, Greenville South Carolina, Erin Mullikin, Advanced Composition Professorship, and, by the time I'm at the ripe old age of nearly 30, a 3rd degree, this one of the highest kind. And I don't even smoke pot anymore!

I have to say, as though I could already see myself in retrospect, I have an acknowledgement to make, to Erin and Marisa's mom and my family, for encouraging me to forge ahead and continue with my education. Even though it's not been an easy process (especially of late with the immense trouble I've had with my thesis), their support has been invaluable.

As life continues to move in concentric circles, I want to say how much I'm looking forward to making G'ville my new home, and how I've already found a family there thanks to Erin and her unhesitating generosity. I only wish my thesis had gone as planned so we could throw another party on the order of the famed toga gathering of the previous summer...........We'll have to make it a housewarming party.
