Summary: So sorry but I have to admit that I suck terribly in summaries. And, hence, I’ve decided not to do a summary for this cause I think the summary won’t do anything much in explaining the whole fiction. My ideas are always changing and I am not sure if they will change in the process of completing this fiction. So, I guess in order to avoid confusion in the future, I guess I should avoid a summary for this!
“Ah…hyung…Where am I? Why are you here? Hongki hyung…Jonghun hyung…they’re gone…What are we suppose to do…?”
“Hyunnie…cool down…”
“How do you expect me to cool down when…”
“When what? What are you going to say next?” a voice familiar continued.
Seunghyun looked beside him and was so surprised to see Jonghun on the bed smiling at him.
“Am I dead?”
“HUH?!” another voice exclaimed.
Seunghyun looked into the direction and exclaimed, “I am really dead…”
“What are you saying? Why do you even think you’re dead?!” Hongki was confused about the situation now.
“Yeah…What makes you say that?” Jonghun questioned.
“I am in heavens now…I am sorry mom and dad…I can’t fulfill my promise of becoming a successful performer…I will fulfill this promise in my next life and I still want to be your son…”
“YAH!!! SONG SEUNGHYUN…WHAT THE HELL ARE YOU TALKING ABOUT…YOU’R NOT DEAD AND WE DON’T WANT YOU TO LEAVE US…NEITHER DO WE WANNA LEAVE YOU…SO YOU BETTER STOP SPROUTING NONSENSE OR I WILL GET YOU AFTER MY BODY GETS BETTER!!!” Hongki couldn’t stand Seunghyun ranting anymore.
“Hongki…cool down…I guess he hasn’t got the situation right…he thought you guys left us…and he fainted... before the doctor could explain the situation clearly to him…So, he still our innocent and cute magnae…”
“EHH~!?” Seunghyun looked at Minhwan with his mouth and eyes wide open.
“Yeah...you fainted and you went into coma for 2 days…You are the one who worries us the most in these few days…Hyungs are strong and the doctor was trying to tell us that they pulled through…and that he was so shocked as he thought they were miracles to have survived such serious accidents that were fatal…You fainted in sadness when he hasn’t even said anything…We know you’re worried…We’re worried too…But, we need to stay calm and listen to what the doctor is trying to say…You silly boy…”
“I am so embarrass to face you guys…”he said as he hid his head in the blanket.
The hyungs couldn’t bring themselves to get angry with this cute and innocent boy anymore as they broke out into laughter. Hongki and Jonghun coughed as their injuries hurt from the vigorous laughter. Minhwan and Jaejin ran to one of them and patted on their backs lightly to lessen the suffering they are having. Seunghyun also got worried and jumped off the bed to rush to get two glasses of water from the bench in front of the beds.
“Jonghun hyung, drink this warm water…you might feel better…” Jaejin took the glass from his hand and fed the patient with care.
“Here you go…Hongki hyung…” Minhwan smiled and fed his hyung carefully.
Suddenly, Jonghun exclaimed at the top of his voice, “Yah!! Hyunnie ah…Your wrists’ bleeding…Get the doctor Jinnie...NOW”
“Hyunnie…Just hang in there…I’ll get the doctor now…”
“Hyung…it’s really not a big matter…it doesn’t hurt much too…”
“Hyunnie…stop talking and get back to bed…don’t move around so much or you will bleed more…” Jonghun nagged like he always did.
“Hwannie…get him back to bed immediately…” Hongki was really worried for this silly little brother.
“Hyunnie yah…Stop now and get to bed…be quiet this will become more serious…” Minhwan said as he pushed Seunghyun to his bed.
“Stay there and be good…” Jonghun sounded like a naggy mother. But, this can’t be blame as it was always the leader (oldest) to be the role of the mother in the group.
“OK…” Seunghyun replied like a little kid.
“The doctor’s here…” Jaejin panted as he arrived in the ward holding the doctor’s wrist. Both of them were panting hard and everyone guessed that Jaejin dragged him along and ran here.
“Doctor, please take a look at our Hyunnie…His wrist is bleeding…”
“YAH KID…do you know that you’re on a drip and you can’t move about like this…Of course you’ll bleed cause you are not careful with the needle…Look…you cut your wrist cause you were too rough just now…We’ll need to disinfect that part and put the needle back into your vessel…so make sure he stays on bed till the drip is done… Or his body will be very weak…” he said to his brothers while attending to the boy’s wound.
“EKKS…” Seunghyun hissed in pain as the doctor applied some antiseptic on the wound before inserting a new sterile needle back.
“Doctor, could you be a little gentle on him…our boy is afraid of pain…”
“Why didn’t you feel any pain when you were so rough on the drip?” the doctor asked without looking at Seunghyun.
“I don’t know…Because I need to get hyung water…I didn’t know I was on a drip…I would be careful later…I promise…”
“You better be…” the doctor sounded stern as he inserted the needle back to his blood vessel before leaving the boys alone.
“Hyunnie ah…please be careful and take care of your body next time…You’ve been in coma for 2 days…You suffered a fever because you body was weak…I guess hyung must have scare you right? I am sorry…” Jonghun apologized and showed his concern to his youngest brother who was sick too.
“Hyung is sorry too…But, why didn’t you tell us you’re sick before that performance…It must be painful and tedious for you…”
“But…but…I didn’t want hyungs to worry for me and enjoy our performance…It was fun isn’t it…We had fun didn’t we?” Seunghyun smiled after seeing their gloomy and worried faces for him.
“But, we want you to be healthy more than we wanted to have fun…Although you just joined us, we’ve wanted you more than everything in this world…Do you know our hearts? I wanted everyone to be healthy and I am willing to give up everything to exchange for everyone’s happiness…”
Everyone had tears glimmering in their eyes when Jonghun expressed his gratitude towards everyone is the team.
“Hyung…I am tired really…I really am so tired of these all…Why are all the people treating us so badly? I really miss my classmates and friends…I haven’t been contacting them ever since all these… Some of them left me…In fact; most of them left me… I feel so alone when I return to school every time… My friends shun me because they said I was famous and they are not fit to be my friends anymore… People who want to make friends with me after I became a member of FT ISLAND, I am not sure if I should trust them…I am really sick of this…I wonder how long can I endure all this…I want to grow up like a normal teenager…” Minhwan sobbed.
“Me too…Everything is so stressful now…We got to take care of our image whenever we go out…I can’t fall in love like what my friends are doing…I think I missed out the most important part of growing since I went into this…” Jaejin gave a sigh.
“Now all our antis are getting more unreasonable and I feel at danger… Sometimes I really feel like giving up…” Hongki gave a desperate cry.
“Are you guys really sure about giving up everything? If you are, I am willing to sacrifice everything for the sake of our happiness and freedom…” Jaejin asked.
“Hyung…Let’s do it?” Seunghyun questioned.
“I wanted to suggest this a long long time ago since the antis started to revolt…But, I thought everyone wanted to hold on to it no matter what…hence, you became my strength to carry on with all these…But, right now, since everyone got deeply hurt, I really don’t wish to sacrifice our smiles for the sake of all of this…” Jonghun smiled and called for the manager.
“Manager Hyung… We would like to see you… We’ve got something to tell you…”
Not long after the call Jonghun made, the manager arrived with beads of sweat still dripping down from his neck, forehead and arms.
“Those crazy idiots are really too much…they’re finally gone after we informed the police…I nearly died there…Phew…” he said while drying himself with the handkerchief.
“Hyung…we’re so sorry about this…But, there won’t be a next time anymore…”
“Huh?!” the manager looked at them.
“We’ve decided to stop all these by bidding farewell to the name of FT ISLAND…We’re really tired of all these…It’s our decision to quit this band…Manager hyung, we really thank you for everything you have been doing for us… But, we’re so sorry that we are so useless every time…You settle all these troubles for us and all we do is to sit there like bums… Hyung, although we don’t say it out, we really love you so much…Thank you…You will never need to go through all these troubles ever again…The antis will stop all that and you would never need to worry about what the media is going to say about us anymore…Sorry and thank you hyung…” Jonghun represented everyone and thanked the manager for helping them get through all these troubles.
“DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT DOING ALL THESE IS GOING TO BENEFIT ME?! Although it’s tiring and stressful for me to be your manager, but, I’ve seen all of you grow and matured…You’re just like my kids…my dear precious kids…I know you’re tired of all these…But, have you ever thought of those who supported you till the end…Be it your Primadonnas, parents, friends and ME…I will always stand by your sides…If you give up, how are you going to face your supporters…Can you imagine how sad and disappointed they would be…? I rather die if all of you quit…I really want to stay with you all forever till I die…So, promise me you won’t give up no matter what…I know things had been hard for you guys recently…And all of your bodies are becoming so weak…You guys miss school right? And I know many of you really want to pursue your dreams in studying too right…I promise that I’ll fight for all your rights in front of boss tonight…I give you a answer tomorrow night…If boss refuse to grant your holidays, we’ll quit together alright? Just hang on to it now…” the manager promised.
Everyone in the ward looked at each other and smiled. They seemed to have come to an agreement to stay on as one again. Jonghun was crying too hard to say anything and he was in the arms of Jaejin. Hongki looked away from everyone and wiped the tears collecting in his eyes.
“Hyung…We’re really weak…but, we’ll stay on as one now…We promise we will not give up for now…Hyung, we’re sorry!!!” Minhwan smiled but tears still fell from his small eyes.
The manager was crying too but he immediately gave an excuse to go out of the ward so that no one would ever see him crying. He went back to their dorms to get them some clothes to change into since they were wearing clothes from the performance just now.
When he returned to the ward, the boys were already sleeping soundly. Jaejin and Minhwan was laying on the couch sleeping soundly. But, Minhwan was very sensitive to cold and he couldn’t stop fidgeting and sneezing. Jaejin snuggled himself into a ball shape and slept at the corner. The manager immediately went out to the reception and requested some blankets and pillows for them. After tugging them into the blankets, he went out to settle their security tomorrow. He demanded securities to stay outside the ward to protect the boys and also arranged for a nutritious breakfast for them tomorrow as he was not sure if things could be settled that soon.
When the boys woke up, they were really touched when they saw their clothes for changing and their daily necessities beside them already. They knew that manager came back in early morning to make preparations for them. Jaejin peered inside the bag and got all their toothbrushes and clothes out so that they could change into something more comfortable.
“Seunghyun…Stay where you are…Don’t try to move around when you’re still on the drip…Just stay there and don’t scare us anymore…!” Minhwan stopped the boy who was about to get off his bed to look for his stuffs in the huge bag too.
“We’ll help you later… In the meantime, please stay quiet in your bed because hyung is still resting…”Jaejin whispered and pointed at the two other boys who were still soundly in bed.
“Ok…” Seunghyun whispered softly and Minhwan could not stand his cuteness and began to squeal.
“Shh…” Jaejin hushed him down and dragged him into the washroom.
“Do you think manager hyung will be able to persuade boss to grant us our holidays?” Minhwan asked with the toothbrush at the side of his mouth.
“Perhaps…We got to have trust in him…But, I really don’t wish to see hyung getting troubled over our things again…” Jaejin said as he wiped his face with his favorite towel.
“I don’t know. But, hyung really treats us too well…Although we get scolding from him sometimes, I believe what he does, he always puts us in the first place…He truly cares for us…”
They were having a leisure chat when they heard their youngest calling for them softly. They both smiled as they knew Seunghyun was trying to keep his volume down and was trying to make his voice be heard but not waking the sleeping boys up.
“Aish…Do you hear Seunghyun calling us…?”
“I think so? What does he want now…?”
“Hyung…Jaejin Hyung…Minhwan Hyung…”
“I’ll go out and see what he wants…”Minhwan grinned and went out leaving Jaejin in the room to change.
“So…Hyunnie…what’s wrong with you? And what’s with that face?” Minhwan joked as he looked at Hyunnie’s face full of humor.
“Hy...un...g…”Seunghyun stuttered.
“Yes? My dear Hyunnie…”
“I need the toilet seriously…I can’t take it any longer…”
“Why didn’t you say so? Why didn’t you shout loudly for us?” he went over and helped him out of bed.
“Jonghun hyung and Hongki hyung is still in bed…I don’t want to wake them up…I tried all ways to get you guys for the past 10 minutes but I guess you couldn’t hear me…”
“Ok…you’re so silly…Let’s get you to the toilet as soon as possible before you empty your bladder here…”
“Hi…Seunghyun…” Jaejin greeted him as he wore his shirt.
“Hi….hyung…” his voice was trembling.
“What’s wrong with him?” Jaejin looked at Minhwan who was holding onto his drip.
“He has been trying to get us for the past 15 minutes because he wanted to pee…And he’s so afraid to wake hyung up that he held it there…He’s really a silly boy…”
“God…how innocent can you be?” Jaejin grinned at him as he looked at him emptying his bladder.
“I am sorry hyung…” he apologized he washed his hands.
“Let’s get out and see how Jonghun and Hongki hyung…is”
They got out of the toilet together and saw the boys sitting up and rubbing their sleepy eyes. Their hair was in a mess especially Hongki’s as they were shaped like a bird’s nest while Jonghun’s hair was all over his face.
“Good morning hyung~” the three boys greeted happily as they walked towards the beds.
“Good morning Jinnie, Hwannie and our little Hyunnie…” Jonghun smiled.
Hongki was still sleepy and grumpy as usual when he just woke up. He just waved at them and he went on to flip and untangle his hair.
“When can we be discharged?” Seunghyun groaned.
“I am not sure…Let’s check with the doctor when he comes for regular checks…” Jaejin smiled and comforted them.
“Hyung…Do you want to wash up? I’ll get you the basin and toothbrush…”
“Huh?! This is like so weird…But, I guess this is the only way we can wash up…we can’t even move our bodies…the injuries hurt too much…”
“Let us help you then…”Jaejin and Minhwan got everything ready and started helping them to wash up for breakfast.
After 10 minutes, Jonghun and Hongki were clean and neat. Breakfast arranged by the manager was sent to them and it was all their favorite foods. Hongki and Seunghyun loved the traditional Korean style breakfast but Hongki got porridge this time because it was much easier for him to digest. Jonghun likes cereal with milk the best while Jaejin loves bread toast with milk. Minhwan craves for the Macdonald’s big breakfast and all these foods were arranged for them by their manager.
The doctor came in just after they finished their breakfast and told them that Jonghun and Hongki is recovering very fast and would be able to be discharge 5days later. As for their young boy, his health is recovering and would be able to discharge tomorrow. All of them cheered and shouted with joy before the doctor reminded them that they’re still in the hospital. They calmed down and apologized for being so excited.
“We’ll need to get back to the agency now…Seems like hyung got something to tell us…And it seems urgent…Can we leave you guys here?”
“Sure…we’re not little kids anymore…Furthermore, we will be well taken care of…There are the doctors and nurses here…don’t worry about us…” Hongki assured them.
“Bye~” everyone waved as they looked at these two boys who went out of the rooms.
The manager greeted them at their dorms and showed a letter to them. He ordered them to read it only after he leave. He sounded so serious and stern that it shocked the two of them. They had bad feelings about the letter and it was something that they wouldn’t want to see.
The manager left soon after handing them the letter. Minhwan looked at Jaejin and who was holding onto the letter.
“What do you think it is?”
“I don’t know…Why don’t you open it for us?” Jaejin pushed the letter to Hwannie.
“No…I don’t want to…It’s so stressful for me…” Minhwan exclaimed as he pushed it back to Jinnie.
“But…But…Aish…Someone has to do it…Let me settle it all for once…I am the hyung here too…” Jaejin said as he patted his chest.
“Yes! That’s the way! Hyung, go for it!!!”
“But, I am still frightened…My heart is trembling…”
“Do it hyung…”Minhwan was getting impatient.
His mind was reluctant to do so because he was so frightened by the disappointment that would come if it was news that nobody would wish to see.
“Aigoo…LET ME DO IT THEN!” Minhwan growled as he grabbed his neck.
“Hyung is really…really…Aish!” he tore open the envelope and emptied the contents in it. A bunch of keys, 5 passports, 5 air tickets, a letter written by the boss, and several other documents greeted the two shocked little boys.
“What’s all this?” Jaejin said as he helped Minhwan with the items as he read the letter.
“I don’t know…But, let’s read this letter first…perhaps we’ll get a clue…”Minhwan said as he looked at the letter carefully.
