So I beat Devil Summoner last night, and all things considered, I thought it was a damn good game. It started out a little rough, but by the time I got to the final boss, you couldn't have ripped the controller from my cold, dead fingers. For the first time in a long time, I felt like I'd actually done something when I beat a boss. Like it was something to be proud of.
Plus, you know. Penis-headed bosses are kind of win on their own. Cursed emissions. lol.
On the other hand! I do wish that we'd seen a bit more of the alternate universe. For as much as the fandom loves Raido, I expected him to do one hell of a lot more than say about ten sentences and then chant. I can't say I would've been entirely against more Raidou the 40th, either. And Gouto's "death" just made me raise an eyebrow. I know, I know, I'm a terrible person, but honestly. It would've been absolutely tragic... if he had really been gone. Instead, he continued to follow me around with his voice instead of his body. I didn't feel like anything had changed. It makes me sad that it didn't touch me like it appeared to touch everyone else, but it's true.
Ah, well. At any rate. Aside from all that, I enjoyed the game immensely. The controls may have sucked, but the battles were fun, and I always got a kick out of catching new demons, especially when they turned out to have new personalities. (I swear my Oukuninushi was trying to court me.)
... s-so did anyone else start worrying about the surely-impending apocalypse when Narumi actually got off his rear and raced out the door with Raidou?
