LJ is screwing with me

So everytime I try to add a username to my entry, LJ goes all funky and turns the rest of my text into a username font.  Then when I try to post it, it shows up as 'bad username' (see previous entry).  What can I do about this

For the LJ link, try going to HTML and typing:
<*lj user="username"*>

but take out the *s. (And replace username with the LJ username)
