BSG: 4.3: "The Ties That Bind"

Okay, really? REALLY? A "Joe's Bar" napkin tells Cally where her husband is?? They're on a frakking military ship. WTF is up with all these bars? How many places could there possibly be on the Galactica for him to go? Where does the bar get the resources to print their own damn napkins?

It's so cute that Bill reads to Laura! But she kept laughing, and I really wanted her to say, "This is a terrible novel," BECAUSE IT WAS. But I think she was chuckling at how cute it was that Adama was reading to her.

Wow, out of everyone they could send, they send Gaeta? My suspicion of him as the Final Cylon grows stronger, along with all the other little clues littered throughout the series. Orrrr not. Really, they sent that many people with Starbuck? That many vital pilots, at that? I'm surprised so many agreed to go, and really surprised that the press wasn't all over that.

I kind of hated Roslin when she was with the Quorum. Sitting back in her chair, rolling her eyes, having no respect at all for the representatives. I loved watching Lee, though. He tried to get her back, and when she bit his hand for trying, his attitude was completely, "Well, fine then, let's really be on separate sides, if you're going to make me look like an ass."

I think the only time I liked Cally as a character was when she bit the ear off of the prisoner in season 1. I liked her as a sidekick character, a mechanic who maybe had a crush on the Chief, but once they got together, I've been a little squicked out. Still, I really like how they did her discovery, and her flashbacks while Tyrol was talking to her. But holy crap, a wrench! That was hardcore. And awesome.

I find the Cylon in-fighting vaguely interesting, except kind of not, because we're getting to the end now, and it's a relatively new plot-line. If it ends up that the Cylons mostly kill each other, eliminating the threat for the humans, I will call "cop-out."

When Kara was talking to Sam, I think it felt pretty clear that he thinks she's the fifth Cylon, most especially when she was talking about feeling detached from her body, from life, etc.

I am still clinging to my hope that Tigh, Anders, Tyrol, and Tory are not Cylons, but just think they are. Can you imagine how Tory would feel, if she found out she wasn't a Cylon? She's so interested in everything, so enamored with Baltar. So accepting of this new truth. What would happen if it wasn't true?

Extremely interesting: The presence of the Orion constellation in the background where the Cylons are fighting: We're close to Earth, kids!

goldjadeocean blogged about the episode behind a locked entry in rage, but her notes on the show were accurate. In every storyline in this episode, girls were acting bitchy (Roslin, Seelix, Tory) or crazy (Kara, Cally), and it kinda sucked.
