My first ever music video! For Matthew Crawley.
This is my first ever music video!
I've always loved this song and thought it would be perfect for Matthew. Season 2 was lacking in terms of exploring Matthew's inner thoughts--his feelings about the war, where he stood with with Lavinia and Mary, his hopes for the future etc.
My wish during and after Season 2 is that Matthew would apologize to Mary--for hurting her, for not acknowledging how she's supported him through the war years, for not seeing her as a complex person with unique needs and desires. And I want him to to love her the way she's loved him. Matthew's own turmoil is significant as well, so I tried to capture that here.
So here's (the beginning of) my wish fulfillment. Comments/feedback are lovely!
