Went to the Georgetown Flea Market yesterday. Mostly meh. But I still got some goodies. I was hoping to find some interesting tables. The selection did not disappoint but their prices were a little higher than I would have liked. Even with haggling I don't think the prices would have been low enough. It was too bad. I found a really great mirror but the lady who was selling it was asking $55. And it was HEAVY.
I still walked away with a vintage map of Baltimore and a silver tray (which polished up nicely with some toothpaste and scrubbing). See?
I just need a couple of lowball glasses and I'm set! On the right you can see a couple other projects: Framed vintage post cards from New Orleans and jars of sand and shells from Scotland. I probably shouldn't have taken the sand but Scottish customs didn't seem to mind.
Dining set project is going slow. I finished sanding a chair before the weekend. Hans tried to help but lasted about ten minutes before he decided he hates sanding. We've agreed that I will do the sanding and he will do the painting, though he will have the most fun. At least I'll probably be the one who picks the color(s).
