So,
I find myself in England! Finally! I've been waiting to do this all summer and I'm thrilled to finally be here with mah sis, the kitties and my brother in law (who happens to also be british fro those of you who don't know this). Yesterday/Saturday were to verrrrrry long traveling days. I left Gainesville at around 645 am. I arrived in Orlando at around 830 and got to the Savon's house. Then my roomate's husband's brother drove me to the airport and I got there super early and the lines were ridiculously short so being 4 hours early was all for naught. I waited by the terminal for a good 2 1/2 to 3 hours. Then I took my flight (which was delayed due to rain and a plane change?). We landed in Charlotte shortly after and I waited about another 2 hours for my next flight. It was around an 8 hour flight, I couldn't really sleep so I found myself watching the amazing in-flight entertainment for like 6 of the hours. I watched The Last Song, had a few tears and decided to cheer myself up with Date Night, which was pretty hilarious. Then we landed in Gatwick airport, and after a terrifying (but short) interview with the Customs lady I waited for my luggage (forEVER) then left to figure out the train situation. Turns out I wasn't supposed to take a train, only a bus, which would take longer but be more direct. Luckily I called my sister before I purchased any sort of ticket. Sooo I bought a bus ticket and waited around about an hour for my bus to leave. At this point I haven't slept in about 30 hours and I've been traveling foreverrrr. I was also quite paranoid checking I had my passport and wallet every 5 minutes thanks to the stories my mother told me about airport thieves. Then the bus ride ensues. And goes on. And on. And on.
And on.
And on.
And on. To be quite frank, I don't really remember it all because every little while I would close my eyes for a second and then next thing I knew I was jarred awake and 30 min had passed. It really wasn't that bad, actually. The bus ride passed alot quicker that way. So as soon as the bus stopped at the last stop, (my stop WOULD be the last) I got up, and fell down teh steps out of the bus...me being graceful as a butterfly and as soon as I saw my sister and Ed...demanded food! We went to a pub, I got some really good beer and something called Mushroom Wellington which was delicious! Then my sister ordered an amazing desert platter and we feasted! (Pics are on facebook and shall be uploaded dailyish).
I forced myself to stay up until about 830pm so I wouldn't get jet lag and went to bed at that time. My love called me at 10! I miss him soooooo much! His voice, his lips, his eyes, his everything! I can't wait to get back and hug him. Siiigh. Onwards with the storytelling.
So today I woke up at 11...or rather my sister woke me up at 11. We lazed around a bit, she made us some sausages and toast which were delicious. Then we lazed around a bit more then got dressed and went into town! Cambridge is beautiful! I got to see kings college, Catherines college, Kings hall and some other college (there are A BUNCH in cambridge, all next to one another). We saw the beautiful chapel in King's College and walked around a lot. I'm grateful for all the exercise I'm getting here in the UK. My love also loves food and we were loving it together a little too much if you ask me, or the scale. lol. Anyhoodles speaking of food I had some delicious lamb and chips! And bought some fudge to share with friends. I'm trying to get an assortment of delicious treats for when I get back. We headed back after getting our lunch and are soon heading out to go meet one of Lucie's friend at a pub so I must say goodbye now but i'll try to update every few days so I can share my adventures. Also, I'm going to be adding pictures to facebook dailyish so check there if you want to see a pictoral guide to my words. =]
Tootaloo!
