Relay for Life
I'm so excited!
In a couple hours I'm heading into town to get ready for my county's Relay for Life. My store is really involved in raising money for charity, and this is a b-i-g one for us. Our team is going to setup our tent at around 2pm. And then at 6pm the fun starts with opening ceremonies, luminary honors, ect...
We also do "loony laps" every hour... which are laps of the Relay with a specific theme that we dress up for (hippie, wedding, purple power, ect...) And each team is judged for originality and enthusiasm. This goes on all night long until Saturday at noon. And during the night we have what they call the survivor challenge, where teams compete in a Relay scavenger hunt to help keep us all awake. My team raised like over $9,000 last year, we had an absolute blast, and we won the survivor challenge and the most loony laps. I'm hoping this year is even better. :)
Only problem being that I have to work Saturday night. LOL! I'm gonna be dead tired by Sunday. But that's okay, it's for a good cause. :)
