Triple drabble...what? you've never heard of one of those? Yeah, me either, but a double just didn't cut it. ;)

Summary: Usually she was able to control her fear...

A/N: Thanks, as always, to Meg for the beta and suggestions. (Though I still uphold that "tremoring" *should be a word!*) And thanks to everyone for reading, hope you enjoy! :D

Carson was going to have a heck of a time dislodging her heart from her throat, she thought with disdain. "Didn't you say you were getting better at this?" Damn her voice for trembling! Elizabeth didn't like showing fear, even in small ways.

"What do you mean?" Carson replied from the front of the jumper. "This *is* better."

Oh, lord.

"Besides, Major Sheppard's the one who..." Carson cut himself off as the nose of the jumper dipped suddenly.

"Concentrate!" McKay said. "Don't talk."

Rodney's tone was harsh, but at the moment Elizabeth was grateful. It meant she didn't have to speak and risk fear slipping out through the cracks in her voice. With any luck they'd be on the ground soon... preferably in one piece... Sheppard would rejoin them, and *he* could fly them back to Atlantis. Then she could lock her fear away again and pretend it had never reared its ugly head. And Carson and Rodney would be none the wiser.

Until then, she'd keep her mouth shut, take calming breaths, and concentrate on *not* looking as scared as she felt.

Twenty long minutes later, it was over. And it took every ounce of her self control not to run outside and kiss the ground when the jumper finally shuddered to a violent stop.

"We made it," Rodney said, apparently he too had been unsure.

Elizabeth nodded, still not trusting herself to speak.

"Guess we should go find Sheppard."

Another nod.

"Right...well...I'll be needing my arm back then."

What...?

She looked down and noticed for the first time that she had somehow managed to capture Rodney's arm in a grip that could rival a bear trap.

"You okay?" he asked. His concern was sweet, but the glint in his eye showed that he was more than mildly amused.

"Backseat driver?" she tried explaining.

But he wasn't fooled.

"Don't worry, Elizabeth. Your secret's safe with me."
