POTC 30 Days - Day 1 - Favorite Character
While trying to come up with something to post on this site I stumbled upon ericadawn16 's post about doing 30 days of Pirates of the Caribbean. It looked like a good idea so I've decided to try it out.
Day 1 - Favorite Character.
It's sort of funny really. I started out with Jack as my favorite character. I remember all the commercials with Johnny Depp running around looking drunk and wearing that eye-liner thinking I'm never going to see this piece of garbage but as the summer went along I found myself thinking 'He looks hot.' So I finally rented the movie and have not turned back since. Move ahead three years and while surfing around on an old fanboard called 'Hide the Rum', I get caught up in the middle of 'Let's post pics of Will Turner because he's so hot.' That night I became a Will Turner fan but not for the reasons I stated. I came to the conclusion that Jack would always be a sort of ladies-man and with Will I really liked the backstory of 'the "orphan" boy with a destiny who finds out the truth of his family that he never actually knew and Jack had to play the part of his teacher and sort of mentor even as the other films go along. Will is one of the characters who grew the most in the three movies all together to become not only a good man but also a somewhat good (even to a certain extent, great) pirate. He's a kick butt swordsman and blacksmith and, well, sort of gets a happy ending (which we're all still a little confused about).
