(no subject)

Semester didn't go quite as well as I would have hoped, but I can't complain. I would still rather do not as good at Tulane than do amazing at Southeastern. Most of the reason wasn't that I couldn't do well (although the C that I pulled off in Calculus is nothing short of a miracle, that class was impossible) it was that I didn't try to do well, not until the end that is. There were a couple of limiting factors, lack of convieneince, lack of friends, and lack of interest didn't help, as well as my work schedule. All in all it was a difficult semester. One class was dropped because there was no hope of passing due to lack of communication on the teachers part. One class I didn't put forth the effort that I should have because the class and teacher were both lame, boring, and stupid (kind of hard to study for a class you don't care about or understand the point of) and another I put forward tons of effort but lack of skill hindered me and my final class was a combination of lack of skill, understanding, and time devoted to the subject.

Unfortunately I find myself stuck in a pretty precarious situation. My current major of Environmental Science holds little interest to me, I would rather Geology, but if I plan to graduate on time, I could never finish. Beyong that I would love to be majoring in something art related, like ceramics or something like that, but I think lack of skill would prevent me from doing well and a degree in ceramics is useless for most any real job, so I am essentially stuck. In a perfect world I would be double majoring in both Geology and Art Studio. Combine what I love with a useful subject that interests me and I would be happy.

Recently I've had visions, of designing my own jewelry line. I've even started drawing some of them out. I imagine myself as a mineralogist or a gemologist for a jewelry company that makes/designs jewelry and getting my own line started. Beyond drawing them out, I've actually made a few pieces, with the little tools I have. I did some particularly nice wirewrapping on a necklace if I do say so myself.
