walking in a winter wonderland...

Today was one of the best days ever! IT SNOWED!!! I mean like real, honest-to-god, stick to ground, make footprints, snowballs, and snowmen from the ground and not the car, SNOW!!! If you would have told me that I would see snow this winter, I would have laughed. When they predicted snow, I laughed. I was like "ha ha, yea right"...well, I ate my words, and the snow along with it when I woke up at 7:00 AM this morning to a phone call from my dad. "Sorry to wake you up this early, but look out your window. They say that its snowing pretty hard in hammond." and my reaction was something akin to this *wild flailing and screaming* OH MY GOD ITS SNOWING! ITS SNOWING! DAD, ITS SNOWING!!! I pulled on pants and a sweatshirt in about 3 second grabbed my camera (and thankfully my key so I could get back into my dorm) and ran head into the snow.

It was amazing, it was wonderful, and everything inbetween. It was absolutely gorgeous and VERY fun. We first play walked around, and called everyone we knew to wake them up. Then got breakfeast...It was a cold breakfeast without any power so the choices were limited. Then we walked around, took hundreds of pictures, played in the snow, made snow men, and snow balls (without gloves because why do you need gloves in Louisiana? Because of snow? What snow? Oh, you mean this once or twice in a lifetime...right, yea...ha ha), and suceeded in successfully freezing our butts off. I could not feel my hands or my feet (I really should invest in some golashes[sp?] ). After that we hung out in our friends dorm just goofing off. It would have been a lot more funner if the heater had been on so we could potentially get warm and wet instead of cold an wet...but alas, it wasn't meant to be. Soon after the snow turned the rain and the snow started to turn into a slushy mess. It was still plenty to fun (I made a snow angel in perfect untouched beautiful snow...it wasn't half bad either). It was so beautiful after the sun came out. The snow was all sparkly and white.

After we all hung out again in the a dorm and just goofed off trying to do something without electricity. We were starting to get really angry because we didn't know what was going on with school or anything. All we knew was that exams on thursday were postponed. We didn't know anything about friday. We didn't know if it'd be wet, or icy, or what. So we were just aobut to get something to eat when we finally got through to Pizza Hut. They were open and they delivered, so we were totally doing that. During that, at 7pm, the power came back on. We heard that friday exams were still on and thursdays were being pushed to monday (that sucks, I'm glad I didn't have a thursday exam). I have a friend that is going out of town saturday and can't make the monday exam, so she's just going to skip it, she has no choice.

All in all it was a really wonderful day. Having snow again, and walking in it, and playing in it, and everything was really amazing. I was in wonder the whole time. It was always "wow, this is so amazing. Isn't this wonderful. This is great, I'm so happy" Despite the frozen slushy mess (yuck!) it was still a really awesome day. I'll have to show some of the pictures I took.
