Colorado

Four years of marriage Sept 24th. To celebrate we drove out to Colorado with our Kayaks. No, we didn't go Kayaking. The water was too choppy and Matt ended up getting sick. The high elevation got to us. The dry air dried us out and we ended up getting colds. The mountains were beautiful though, and the grass looked sharp like it could cut you, but it was soft to the touch like a small animal. It reminded me of all the fake dried out flowers in craft stores that are hard to the touch. All purples and yellows. And the rocks and landscape was a desaturated mix of colors. I enjoyed it, but after day 4 I missed the lush forests of home.

The rivers were crisp and clear, I could see all the way to the bottom of them, all the rocks and little fish as if I were looking through melted glass that had a slight green/blue tinge.

No moose, no elk, no mountain goats, but we did see one antelope.

The bed and breakfast we stayed at was nice. It was a wooden cabin with an older couple running it. The cabin was full of small little collectible nick-knacks. It was either the home of a pack rat or a serial killer. The main eating, recreation area was full of deer and elk antlers, taxidermy heads of animals. Glass mugs, with themes and logos splattered everywhere like an antique mall just vomited everywhere. We enjoyed it.

The hot tub was nice in the evening, just relaxing outside. And we could nearly see every star in the sky, except the moon was so bright it washed out a lot of them. Damn that moon.

I love Matt. I love him every day I'm with him, and I'm happy to spend every minute with him, and going on our adventures out into the world. I wouldn't want anyone else to be near me. He makes me laugh and smile like an idiot just thinking about him. This was a good trip.
