You can see the list of those I intended to read here. I completely stuck to my list this time and didn't watch anymore nor anything else! (<< as in 2016 Autumn releases) Some were absolutely amazing, but there were a few disappointments.

I shall do the doramas first:

I am reallly hesitant watching the last EP of FREE-ETERNAL SUMMER, since it means parting with Haruka *sniff*. Although I heard something new of FREE shall be coming in 2017, but not sure if it´s really a third season.

You would know, if you´d check my MDL - it´s always up to date, unlike somebody elses *cough cough*. CAIN AND ABEL started to receive subs very late, so when we first discussed new season doramas I wasn`t watching it then.
Surprisingly I ended up watching quite many doramas of the fall season, despite the fact that - with the small exception of Suda Masaki - really none of my favourite actors (which are not few) was in this season. Probably because when the season started I was sick and had time to check out more 1st EP´s than usual. There were many just average doramas, but "Jimi" and "Suna" were real highlights.

Yes, the gay couple in "Jimi ni sugoi" is really cute and I already read about that spin-off. I even asked Menimi who subbed "Jimi" if they would also sub the spin-off - but regrettably they declined :-(. I would have loved to watch that.

"Suna no tou" was the surprise highlight and it got me a new guy to swoon about - Sano Hayato. I started watching it because Iwata Takanori is in it whom I already liked in WILD HEROES and who is easy on the eye ^-^. But Sano was instantly my fave. And Izzyosa75 always have a good hand in picking interesting doramas to sub, so I usually check them out.
It´s one of those rare doramas that start nice, getting uncomfortable and towards the end getting ever nastier. It also keeps it thrill until the very end (also rare for J-Doramas). I had a suspicion who the kidnapper is from EP 07 on, but for the wrong reasons ^-^. Still it kept being extremely thrilling and interesting. You should give it a try and don´t stop after the first episode.

Ah, and good news - FINALLY Yoshizawa Ryo got a good lead in a movie - it´s called "Tomodachi game" and shall be out sometime in 2017.

So far I have not much information about the upcoming WInter-season - so if you hae any recommendations - shoot ^-^.

There's always the Free movie right? Have you watched that yet? That came out last year.

I never check anything on MDL except to update my own list which BY THE WAY someone else's list *cough cough* was updated DAYS ago.

"So far I have not much information about the upcoming WInter-season - so if you hae any recommendations - shoot ^-^." Funnily enough I wrote my 'Winter Season's Doramas" and "What I Will Watch Winter 2017" posts about 3 weeks ago but I've scheduled it to come out JUST before the doramas start so it won't be out until... Jan 4th.

My list is ALWAYS up to date - if it was updated only a couple of days ago, this means, I haven´t had the chance to watch anything since then *cough cough*

The FREE-movie I have already watched on our 2016 J-film-festival - and loved it. I recently bought the Blu-Ray and surely will re-watch it soon. But it´s not new anymore to me.

I just read that Yoshizawa will lead in "Tomodachi game" - and it´s listed as both a movie AND a dorama - but no details yet.

Have to edit this - and cancel the sentence which only answered my own question - I´m soooo tired already. Woke up much too early this morning.

You and you timed posts - today I would have the time to read about the new season - on Jan. 4th I´ll be working and have little time :-(.
Anyway, thanks for making a post about it ^-^.

"this means, I haven´t had the chance to watch anything since then" exactly why my list is (in your words) 'never updated'. I only update when I watch stuff and this past year I haven't been watching things WEEKS at a time, so naturally I'm marathoning and BAM everything is updated in one day because I watched everything that one day! So technically MDL IS always up to date I just don't update it as often as you do because I don't watch stuff as often as you do anymore!

Hm, I remember you said you don´t download and thus you watch the doramas when they air...!?

But anyway, you can have a look at my list if you want to have an overview about what I am watching - it´s very much up to date.

I don't download but I watch on streaming sites. especially last month when the ones I were watching I weren't obsessed about so I didn't watch them weeks at a time. I watched maybe the first two and the last episode of the doramas as they aired.

Those streaming sites the subbers hate so much? ^-^.
I download, but despite that I work quite similar. I check out a lot of first episodes and then decide it I will continue downloading. Then some doramas I am quite keen on watching soon get priority and other I will pick up, when the favourite ones are finished.
However I mad a rule not to wtach more than 10 doramas simultaneously - so far it worked.
I was not as strict with animes and that lead to a desaster - I got stuck with too many.

"Those streaming sites the subbers hate so much?" nope because I use Japanese streaming sites such as miomio and dailymotion so they never have subs. They're always raw.

"However I mad a rule not to wtach more than 10 doramas simultaneously" 10 doramas?! I've NEVER watched 10 doramas at one time!! You're crazy! xD

I think the most I've done at one time is 6 doramas.

True - you don´t really need the subs. Do you understand EVERYTHING, or is it more convenient to still watch with subs?

10 doramas sound more than it is. There are always those with (unexpected) slow subbers were you kind of get stuck and watch one episode every month or so (if a subber is slow and I know it already, I won´t start the dorama before the subs have progressed VERY far ^-^). And there are those Detective-doramas where is only very limited progress in a storyline and you can watch them on a case to case-basis, like IQ 246 or THE SNIFFER. I watch 4-5 doramas with an interesting storyline or favourite actors with priority and very regularly and those other just tag along when convenient ^-^.

I don't understand everything but enough to understand what's happening completely almost all the time.

Ahh yeah I can understand slow subs jacking up your list. In those cases I put those doramas into my On Hold list or it just makes me stressed to see them not moving on my Watching list.

Once I have started a dorama and it´s with someone I like, i have a problem to set it on the "on hold"-list. When a new sub appears I am to curious to ignore it ^-^.

I'd still change my progress of it every time new subs came out,'I'd just have it in my On Hold list because seeing it not change weeks at a time would stress me out if it stayed on my Currently Watching list.
