As you all know I got the 10th Anniversary DVD Box Set of D-Stage for Christmas last year and now I've FINALLY gotten around to reviewing them all even though I watched them all almost a year ago and I feel like I should rewatch them at the beginning of January... So I think I'll do all my reviews here anyway BUT if I wanna add something or talk

Kanbei Onrei... Wait? That was during Koizora/Kiva time? Oh, no, year before. That means... That was Seto's real hair! Haha, yeah, I remember he used to complain about his hair. Now he's making the big(ish) bucks, so I guess he can afford better stylists and product so that his hair looks less like it belongs on a wild man of Kyushu and more like that of a Tokyo actor.
Karasu! I know why it's 4 and 10! I know! It's because 4 opened in April and 10 opened in October! Also, Seto's American accent? What? Now I need to watch again because this slipped past me before. Also, Dragon is an axe!
Last Game... I think both versions are such touching anti-war pieces, and have such a life-affirming message. Well, that was the whole point, right?
Samimag... Shintarou was 16? Good lord! I didn't realize he was so young then. But, yes, the experience and maturity of the Red team really paid off. Watching it for timing purposes makes me appreciate their performances even more (though it also makes me hate the camera man. Really? You couldn't focus on who was talking? Didn't you see this play previously so you could plan?)
I still haven't watched Trump because, well, I guess fabulous gay vampires isn't my thing, but I remember the controversy quite well. And... well, D-2 didn't take Tomo's advice badly, though some fans took affront. Sempai/kouhei relationships can be really weird.
All the D-Stages make me nostalgic, especially for the show biz graduates. Of course, not everyone who embarks on an entertainment career is going to stick it out, but it still strange to know that some actor is no longer an actor.

Oooo that's why for Karasu! Makes sense xD although my theory is better ;)
Yeah I don't remember 'Seto's American accent' either but it's in my notes! xD
'though it also makes me hate the camera man' Oh really?! See! This is why I need to rewatch everything xD
You remember the controversy?! See I missed all this and I hate how I missed it all! Do fill me in with any details you see appropriate that I should know.
Yeah it's definitely odd to think 'where the hell are they now?' or 'OMG Igarashi is now a shop owner!' and stuff xD

About the controversy, I mostly remember our common D2 friend being very angry with Tomo. And she is the one who told about it back then. I think maybe because D2 had been recently combined with D-BOYS and the D2 fans were angry about that, that the whole thing was taken worse by the fans. But the D2 boys didn't seem to mind. You know that whole sempai-kouhai relationship, and how a sempai that truly cares about your future will be unsparing. Heck, we saw that in HOPE, right? That there's a really hard to distinguish line, even for Japanese, between abuse and support. And then there's the whole "never publicly complement a member of your in-group" thing. So, at the point back then, Tomo had been working a lot on his own with D2 members, and they really saw him as an active sempai, not like Seto, who was always busy elsewhere, or even Endo and Wada, who are more motherhens. So, I don't think D2 took what he said badly, but a lot of fans, even Japanese ones did. What Tomo did, essentially, was to give them the same sort of performance criticism he would have given them in private, instead of saying pleasant things about the performance. Essentially, fans who were already angry at D-BOYS in general over management's decision were especially primed to interpret Tomo's comments as abusive rather than supportive. But the thing is, subsequently, the relationship between Tomo and the D2 performers didn't seem to change at all. So, really, it was more that fans were upset than the D2 actors who, I presume, already knew Tomo was socially clumsy.
Speaking of Shunji, have you ever gone to Shabu 8 (or whatever it's called)? I didn't expect he was going to open a restaurant, that's for sure. I don't think anyone in D☆DATE did either, or they wouldn't have given him that tie. I always wonder if he didn't start dreaming about having a restaurant back during D-BOYS Be Ambitious. He seemed to have really enjoyed himself when he was working at that one.

Yeah I've looked up as much as I can about what happened and to be honest I don't think it was bad at all. And also I think it's very Tomo of him with what he said. It reminds me of during Okimesu when he asked Mitsuya what he thought of the stage and he pretty much said the same thing Tomo did "I don't need to compliment you because I know you're all capable actors" but no one lost their shit there. Oh well. Least the D2 controversy is all over now...
I don't know what the restaurant is called. If I did, I'd go! xD
'I don't think anyone in D☆DATE did either, or they wouldn't have given him that tie' what tie?
I think the boys still go and visit him though which is nice.

I think everyone would be thrilled to have a Tumbling reunion! What a great idea that would be, especially if they would have Tomo's character be openly gay.
It's strange how the same actors end up with each other over and over again, isn't it? Like with HOPE and Tonomonogatari, and now Seto's BushiMeshi also has the weird dad from Atadan, though I don't think they were ever on the set at the same time maybe. And Seto and Yamamoto seemed like the perfect combo there for a while.

I didn't know about the tie thing xD
I guess it's just they see them working well together and they keep putting them together. Although I know for YowaMushi dorama one of the actors specifically asked the director to hire his friend as well so they could act together again xD so maybe that happened with Seto and Yamamoto too?
