This one is probably going to be my shortest and most all over the place review. Remember Prince of Tennis and Tenimyu is this MASSIVE thing so what I saw was only a section of a very big story and fanbase - but it was very enjoyable! But I have to say I was a little nervous. I'm a huge fan of first season and the 3rd and 4th gen (Seto <3 Tomo <3 Hamao <3 etc.) and only seen about two from season season and this was my first third season Tenimyu and we're already on 8th? 12th? 10th gen? I don't know xD Someone else can confirm for me hehe BUT I weren't even 30minutes in when I was like 'oh hell yeah this is Tenimyu. It's still awesome, hilarious, enjoyable! I have nothing to worry about with 3rd season xD' it was SO MUCH FUN!
Little note: the venue was a lot smaller than I thought... I dunno what I expected but naturally you here 'At Tokyo Dome City' and you imagine all the venues at Tokyo Dome City are gunna be as big as Tokyo Dome, but Dome Hall was very small in comparison to Dome xD This make sense? xD
The bear custome in the beginning was so cute!!! I want one xD
Towards the end of Seigaku's first scene, Inui said Yukimaro/Yukimura/Kikumaro (something like that xD) instead of Kikumaru xD everyone was dying and Kikumaru was like 'Yukimaro??'
Inui: Shut up.
xD
^ For those of us who don't know who I'm talking about xD with credit
here ^
Another hilarious moment was when Nomura said a Harry Potter spell, I can't remember WHY but he was like 'expelliarmus!' xD I think it was during one of those 'montages' when random pairs are on stage and, also two from Yamabuki were pretending to eat which was funny too xD
OOOOO and just a general comment! how they ALL managed to jump over that fence and not get a foot caught! DAMN! If that'd been me, pretty much EVERY performance I would've got my foot caught and tumble OVER the fence! But everyone did it with SUCH ease! I am impressed.
ALSO! I really liked the songs!! I loved the shadow song from a duet in Yamabuki (I can't remember which two though...I wanna say Nitobe and Kita but I'm not sure *run's to friends blog and remembers a shit ton of stuff to mention*), and I really liked all of St.Rudolph's songs!! <- were all these songs created for this one play/storyline OR have all these songs been sung multiple times throughout this gen? Can anyone inform me?
Oh and I really liked the graphics too for both the Shadow song and St.Rudolph's stuff ^_^ just the graphs overall is brilliant! Even with the teniis ball shadow always being on point and stuff! I also really liked the staging and the different props and staging they used through the play too ^_^
Kaneda from Rudolph was funny as a Yankee and he switched right back to normal straight after which amused me xD Also reading Tegopyon's blog, I think I also saw a 'Yuta's random dancing to his phone ringtone.' scene too...
AND! I was very impressed with Kikumaru!! His tennis racket skills (which was also rather attractive for me) and dance moves and acrobatics were brilliant!! I also really liked the glasses guy (reading this back WEEKS later, I have no fucking idea which GLASSES guy I mean... O WAIT I DO!) - I mean Muromachi! He was so funny during one of the dance numbers in the middle of the tennis tournament. So much bloody energy!! I think he's my favourite character out of this lot anyway... Him and Kikumaru... and obviously Kaidoh <3 .... Sengoku was cute too... Dan was sweet too I felt for him... and Kisarazu is a cutie too. ANYWAY!
'Anshinshimasuyo, haitemasuyo!' One of my FAVOURITE jokes every and (Kikumaru?) they said it!!! ^_^
OH! And I remember them watering Nitobe's plant at one point too >.< so cute!!
Also of course there's Kaido (as previously mentioned) <3 so funny when Yukimura always tried to get him to high five and stuff and dance and he was so reluctant but would do it a little anyway so long as no one was looking xD so cute!! I've always liked Kaido <3 and this Kaidoh did not disappoint <33
A little downer: the guy playing Akutsu reminds me WAY too much of Miura Haruma so I had an automatic hate for him... Sorry!! BUT at the same time I felt he didn't get enough screen time nor enough character development/introduction on stage, BUT that could just be because I'm not fully in the know of everything Tenimyu yet. BUT I do remember being impressed by his solo... I think xD but I also remember I wanted to know more and see more of him.
And one scene that I can clearly remember is when Dan is near the tennis match and Eichizen is relaxing outside and Dan is like 'did you hear about Echizen?! Seemingly he's about my height and a first year and that he's already the star of the Seigaku team! But they won't let me be a regular n Yamabuki because I am short and a first year. But if I can get information on him!' and Echizen plays along and is like 'oh his height is 180cm' xD and then Echizen is called for and he leaves and Dan is like 'you're Echizen?!' xD It was a good scene in my opinion ^_^
FINALLY,
The end where they all had their dances xD I got a little confused but I was able to do all the different ones just about!
And when they came out into the crowd; Fuji, Kawamura and Sengoku came over to my side at the end!! ^_^
OMIKURI
For this day's send off there was Echizen, Inui, Muromachi, Akazawa and Nomura. I was shocked at how tall Echizen actually is! They always cast a shorter guy for Echizen but he's DEFO taller than me at least even if he's like the shortest on stage xD And obvs I got excited for Muromachi <3
^ We go the Valetine thing free. I assumed they'd made a certain amount and were going to continue to give them out even after Valentine's until they ran out xD
----
Overall: I was a little worried at first because it was my first Tenimyu since First Season but DAMN I enjoyed myself so much and it's amazing to SEE how far the fandom has come and their voices and having different songs was a little weird but very fun! Also the amount of graphics and how well the graphics have come since 3rd Gen (we are talking like 10years ago!) and everything! I enjoyed my self and laughed at lot and the Omikuri was a nice extra xD My fav is always be Kaido but some did fall into competition thanks to this play xD I will defo get this DVD I think xD I DO intend to go to DREAM LIVE in May ^_^
Rating: 7/10 - I need to see more Tenimyu before I can give it a solid and accurate rating though.
