Sep 02, 2012 22:11

Because I am such a lazy ass, I haven't updated with posts of reviews of ANY of the suff I have watched during (and even WAY before) this summer. SO here comes a massive lot of them. There's 24 atleast I need to review on here, so in advance and multiple times: I am sorry if I spam your friend page (if you even look at it. I never do! o_O)

So here to start off with, a nice favourite: 明日のジョー。

Plot
Set in the 1960's, Joe Yabuki (Tomohisa Yamashita) lives in a run-down low income ara. There, alcholic ex-boxer Danpei Tange (Teruyuki Kagawa) notices Joe Yabuki's talents as a boxer. But then, Joe gets into trouble and is sentenced into the youth detention center. In the youth detention center, Joe gets into a brawl and then is knocked out by Toru Rikiishi (Yusuke Iseya) who is a champion caliber professional boxer.
While incarcerated, Joe gets special training from Danpei Tange through letters. Upon Joe's release, he quickly becomes an elite boxer and famous for a devastating cross counter. Review

Quick review but packed of cinematic lexis xD
Boxing <3
Amazing cinematography and great use of the camera with the 360 spin and slow motion and shaking camera during the fight scenes.
I cried twice - very emotional film!
Makes me like watching boxing again - wanna rewatch 一ポンドの復員 (One Pound Gospel) now xDD
I've figured that I like Yamashita only as an actor (sometimes singer) not as a person but I am still willing to watch his Travelling America documentary this summer and I do like some of his music, I'm just still annoyed over him leaving NEWS...
Beautiful end song: Utada Hikaru ~ knew straight away it was her! xDD
Could NOT stop looking at Yamashita's crotch (he's defo got something good in there ;)). If only I'd screencapped the moments... haha xDD
And YamaPi look damn good in this film! So buff in it! xD
I love that it was set in past decade and time and I loved the costumes and the sets =]
His character's weight 117, that's the same weight I am! And I'm 5ft3 and a girl! *cries*

Overall Ratings
