Racial Riots

I am really disgusted with Australian society at the moment. First there were the huge racial riots in Sydney at the beach, where European Australians all went and bashed up the Lebanese people that they saw and pretty much anyone else of a Middle-Eastern appearance. And we boast about being a warm, accepting, multicultural society. Pah. Whatever.

It was started after one of the gangs of Lebanese people in Eastern Australia bashed the life guards at one of the beaches. Therefore a large mob of European Australians thought it would be alright if they attacked anyone they thought was either moslem or middle eastern, as well as anyone who helped the moslem or middle easterners (policemen, paramedics, volunteers in general, etc.). They even bashed a man who was putting out the garbage. They also cornered a group of moslems into a toilet block and they couldn't get out until paramedics came to rescue them, the paramedics had rocks and other objects thrown at them while leaving the area.
There was however also something about text messages and I think there was a bomb threat as well.
It started out as a non-violent protest until the group incresed in size and decided to start attacking anyone of middle eastern appearance. I don't really feel proud of my heritage at the moment. I don't know how they manage to justify their actions at all.

About the bombs they confiscated heaps of little ones that could easily set off a car or petrol station

The Lebanese gang didn't like the lifeguards being on 'their' beach and told them to go away (though not in those words) several times but the lifeguards just said 'we're lifeguards we're not going anywhere' (or something similar) and therefore the gang bashed them.
Yes it doesn't really make any sense.

It is stupid. And disguisting, the fact that this has blown out of proportion and they had to lock down suburbs and ban alcohol! The enails and SMSs are getting really scary.
