You know those warnings on the back of Q-tip boxes that say "do not insert into ear canal"? Apparently they put that there for a reason. Who knew.
(Quick synopsis: I was cleaning my ears out last night and poked the Q-tip a bit too far into the ear canal, and accidentally poked my eardrum. It's fine now, but for a few hours last night all the sound in my left ear was muffled, as if I were wearing an earplug in that ear only.)
