Actually, mommy and daddy don't pay for grad school. Grad school is not undergrad, it's different. The department pays your tuition in full and generally give you a stipend for working in a lab rotation. You are clearly full of vehement anger for anyone that feels like their achievements and life direction is in their own hands, and that is very sad. Because it really truly is. And you can sit here and complain about what's the point all you want...but the point is you can't mooch of people forever. You have to earn your way somehow. Making music is great but it wont bring you the means to support yourself. Or if it does it will never bring you the means to have anything above a top ramen lifestyle.

And the looking good on paper thing takes a while to pay off. It's not an instantaneous result. It a slow build of of personal achievements you work for. You have to continue through it to obtain results. You have to strive to always stick with it and make it better. It won't bring you financial aid, it will bring you a golden ticket into grad school which will bring you a golden ticket into a job sector given you make the correct connections and choices all the way there. It's not like you work hard and have something landed into you lap. It's you work hard to get to the opportunity, you work hard to take that opportunity, and then you work hard to keep that opportunity. Nothing is ever handed to you on a silver platter. Not even for bitches like Paris Hilton. Yes you can mouth off all you want to that one. Hard work is defined in a multitude of ways.

And those people you say worked hard and failed generally did some major stupid fuck up that was their own fault. They took a gamble on some retarded idea thinking they could get rich quick or they played their hand poorly.

Mooching isn't exactly something I am proud of. But it is either that right now, or homelessness. And I'm choosing the former because it's giving me an opportunity to work on the many different facets of my self, and I know that the circumstance is impermanent like everything else.

Equally, even the people who feel they are making it all on their lonesome, have a lot of thanking to do.

I'm not banking on music, dear. I'll go back to college after I've managed to become independent. Of course, that's not going to end up giving me much either, but I'm not too worried about making a killing out there...I only need enough to live comfortably.

Furthermore...I did find it rather interesting that graduate school pricing was so ridiculously inexpensive, while undergraduate was so incredibly high. I could sleep through undergraduate school and get As. There's something very -wrong- with that.
