Books and learning...

I found the “most interesting” book today at that little bookstore just down from the Finchely Road Tube Station. The place is a rabbit’s warren, but the little demon who owns it always seems to know exactly what I’m looking for before I ask. I suppose the fact that he looks more than a little bit like Yoda is only a coincidence.

Anyway, back on topic. The book. It’s got some nice basic and useful spells in it. The interesting part is back in the appendices, where it makes reference to ways to improve on the basics. How to get “more bang from your buck” as it were. So many wonderful things could be done. So much that could be useful.

But, well, also so much that could be bad. Things that would make Giles get… annoyed with me. Things that would make him get that look in his eyes - That Ricky Ricardo look that means Lucy just ruined the show and he’s so disappointed in her…. Again.

And honestly, I saw Willow, much more up close and personal than I ever wanted to, and let me just say, black and veiny is not a fashion statement that I ever want to make on a personal level - not to mention insane and homicidal.

What I really need is someone to teach me. I need my Obi-Wan, my Yoda. Heck, my Annie Sullivan - For surely I’m just as deaf and blind, in this, as Helen Keller was.

That would be cool, my own Annie Sullivan. Only she’d have to be the one played by Anne Bancroft and not by Patty Duke when she grew up, because her work just seemed a bit derivative at that point….
