Share a few things about yourself
I just want to say that sometimes I think this mode of conversation really sucks (especially if you don't know who you are talking to). Often times... there are things I say here that I assume people will know what I mean. Lately I have been very fatigued and I know it may have affected my perception of what I read or my own discourse.
I just what to state a little bit about who I am. In NO WAY am I intending to imply any social or political issues at large. ... unless otherwise stated. I'm aware some people may read into what I say... based on what they may be immersed in now. So fight the urge, please.
This is a little bit of me straight up:
1. I have my set moral code and what I believe to be right and wrong. I believe there are Universal Right and Wrongs. I am also very much aware of the grey areas that exist.
2. I believe in tolerating other peoples divergent ideologies. I do not have to agree with them or support their validity and the same goes for other people in regards to me and my beliefs.
3. Just because I have my own sense of right and wrong does not mean that I cannot see things from another point of view and understand where "they are coming from". Some people probably cannot, but I'm not talking about them and I do not wish to be counted among them. I'm known by a few (among them are some family members and my pastor) to be able to argue both sides of an issue quite well.
4. Sometimes I will play Devils Advocate just to explore what people think.
5. I'm incredibly curious of why people think (act) the way they do. I don't want someone to just tell me what they think... I like to know why. Thought processes and behavior of people or groups fascinate me to no end!
Now a little bit about specifics:
1. I've got a real problem with people identifying themselves as Christians when they are clearly not and this goes for churches that profess the same but deny the Gospel.
Now this, I'm aware, is a very loaded (and broad) statement and I'm not even going to attempt to explain what I mean here and now. Since other people discuss their spiritual and religious view here on LJ... I may delve into what I mean later on in other posts.
Why don't you share a few things about what makes you you... or what you think about anything.
Just make the statement. Need not be a discussion.
It can just be insight to be considered as we go along with LJ and read each others journals.
