It's been a while since I've updated my journal. Mainly because I didn't really have much that I thought was interesting enough to write about. I lie though.. cuz there were tons of things that I could write about. heheh... for example.. I quit my self defense class.... after getting my orange belt. Couldn't really afford it. Went back home to say goodbye to my childhood home...before it was sold. heheh.. funny thing is... it's still there (some issues with the people trying to buy it).
A friend of mine (Judy) was here for a while on detail for work.. had a blast with her! She actually got me out of the house! We even drove to Annapolis & had seafood & steak... heheh.. got to try the famous Maryland Crab Cakes... Good stuff by the way!
Found the historic town of Occoquan Virginia! I couldn't believe that I had driven by for sooo long & not realized just what was there!! I passed the exit every other day on the way to my Chiropractor! Geez... anyway... awesome little town! I had the best Country Fried Steak I have ever had! They also had tons of little shops with unique & beautiful things!! Loved it! Ohhh & heheh.. found some Delicious goodies i totally stocked up on!
http://www.momsapplepieco.com/ Check it out....just don't try to buy one of everything, like I did!
Anyway... Judy's time here was short..but we had a great time. Another friend of mine, Maria.. came to visit not too long ago. It was great being able to hang out with her once again. It had been too long! We got to go to Baltimore & have dinner at the Cheesecake Factory on the Harbor, we visited all the monuments on the National Mall (in the freeeeezing weather) but had a great time & took lots of pictures! We saw the White House & I finally got to see the Front of it... wasn't too impressed... i think i like the back better. We ate at Fuddruckers & drove around to see Arlington Cementery & Iwo Jima. Then we drove to Union Station & we went inside to wait for her train (which goes directly to BWI-- good to know). There's a lot in there! heheh.. we walked around & did some shopping. Great times.
By the way... Maria & another friend of mine, Alma, are running & walking a marathon in Alaska with Team In Training! If someone would love to donate.. please let me know! I'll be more than happy to send you their link! I am definitely going to try to go see them in Action! Alaska should be great!
And now for the real reason for this update. My time in DC/VA is coming to an end. Roomie & I gave our two weeks at work & March 15th will be our last day there. We'll be tourist for a couple of days in DC & then head back to Dallas, TX - Home. We'll have no jobs yet..so if anyone knows of something.. please let me know! I'll be most grateful! Her husband is coming up tomorrow & we're heading to Philly for one last mini-trip before we leave the area. Can't be this close & not visit Philly! We're planning on taking advantage of the drive home to see some things along the way... she's a history freak & I just want to see South Carolina's coast. We're planning on seeing the Biltmore Mansion in NC on the way out (still have a free pass from last time).. & visiting a friend of hers in SC & maybe heading along to GA, AL, MS, AR or LA, then TX home sweet home.
Roadtrip anyone?!
It's going to be a big change & although I'm only tooooo excited to return.. I'm also terrified! I've changed so much & have enjoyed my time away from home enough.. that I don't know how being back will be. There's that.. & well the fact that I'll have to find a job! lol
I will however miss the few friends I've made here. Although I didn't go out much.. the few times we hung out were great & meeting everyone truly made a difference in how I felt here. Thanks.
I do see myself coming back to visit this area. There's tons I didn't see or do & well.. I know people here that I'd like to visit again. If anyone goes down to TX-- Dallas anyway... let me know!! I can totally hangout!
So that's my life right now.
