Note 001

The handwriting here is deliberate, but with very awkward pressure levels on the ink, as if the writer is more used to writing with a brush than a pen.]

I could not have come here by natural means. The calendar gives the date as the day after the last day I recall, yet I appear to have crossed two oceans in the space of a night. I cannot afford to ( Read more... )

So you've done your research. Whatever the case, I am Allelujah, and it is a pleasure to meet you- in as much as these journals constitute meeting.

I assure you that if any of us were aware as to how we arrived here, we might have taken steps to correct this scenario. I cannot guarantee that any theories we have hold any truth to them.

A pleasure to speak to you directly, Mr. Haptism.

It is always wisest to fully research a situation before immersing oneself in it. No matter what anyone's theories are (no one seems to have publicly shared any), all of them must be considered, if only to be discarded.

Unfortunately, research prior to immersion was not an option for us. Even reading back in the journals before arrival only familiarizes yourself with a situation that is already present.

As for theories.. there are any number of them. With no evidence besides witnessing supernatural activity, we only have vague thoughts and ideas.

[several scratched-out starts]

That was not intended as a slur, just an explanation of my conduct. I realize I have an advantage that none of the earlier arrivals possessed.

And sometimes one piece of evidence is the key to unlock the case. What exactly have you observed, Mr. Haptism?

[A pause.]
I ought to meet with you all to hear your theories rather than trusting to this journal.

I never believed it was. After all, you were thrown in this situation lacking prior research as well, am I correct?

My observations are very small and probably not the most reliable. Charlotte has mentioned seeing a figure in the hallway, however... and the sounds of children. There has also appeared a small door in the back of my dresser.

...I apologize. My English is very limited off of the journal. Unless you are able to converse in Russian, the journal is the easiest way for us to communicate. I would be willing to meet, though- I have nothing against that.

Are children generally associated with ghosts in this land? In Japan, they tend to take the forms of women or monsters. ... Pardon me, that is a question I ought to ask Miss Charles. I read what you mentioned about the door previously. It seems to respond to no force? I have heard of that before.

I must confess my English is likely to be as limited as yours, or more so. I'm sure we will have the occasion to meet in the company of others.

...I'm not at all familiar with any sort of superstition or myth in British society, as your research on the journals may have alerted you. As I have said before, I am much more familiar with those of my homeland.

...Then... Unless you can speak Russian, I doubt we will be able to share many theories off of these journals.
