I think it's extremely telling that, seven days after my initial decision to take a break from writing fiction, and five days of actually not doing it, last night I dreamed about writing Ritual. Not about the series itself, or scenes from it; I dreamt about actually physically writing, looking at the words slowly filling up the monitor screen, and the mental/physical/emotional sensation of doing it.
It was kind of cool. I couldn't tell you what it was that I was writing; it just felt good. It felt right. I felt very "present", more so than I usually do in my dreams.
It makes me wonder - what do actors dream about?
