I love the image of Peter throwing a rock after Nathan's car, just like Claire (obviously). Another AWESOME FRICKIN' JOB! Woot!

Well, if anybody gets rocks thrown at him on a regular basis by family members, it's Nathan. He's just asking for it. ^_^

thanks again - glad you like it. I wrote it faster than I thought I would.

For sure - for sure!

Yes, pet them and hug them and throttle them and spank them and slap them for being so dumb. But they do figure it out - sort of - kinda. But might as well finish spanking them, if you've already gotten started. ^_^

Oh, such delicious angst... I love Peter snapping, pushing Nathan harder than he even realizes he is, and Nathan struggling so vainly against things he can hardly admit exist. I know I've said it many times before, but I absolutely love the entire mental/emotional world you've created here. It's balanced, sort of, but both of them are so tortured in the process.

It was such a dumb dream, really, probably brought on by having seen that Tom Petty video too many times.

OMG, LOL!

I absolutely love the entire mental/emotional world you've created here. It's balanced, sort of, but both of them are so tortured in the process. It's not exactly the most comfortable or familiar situation to be in, so yeah, they're both pretty tortured here. A lot of Nathan's problem here is the secrets he's still keeping from Peter - about their father (the unspoken implication here is that at this point, Arthur Petrelli is getting really freaked out about the plans of the Company and no longer feels in control of it, and is considering "disappearing"; Angela sends the kids away while she deals with Arthur and brings him back in line, and then suddenly afterward Arthur starts unsuccessfully attempting suicide because he now knows there's no escape), about Meredith and the baby, about Dixon... and he still keeps those secrets for as long as he can. if Nathan could just be honest with Peter, at least, they'd both be a lot more mentally healthy, but that's just not the way Nathan does things. He lies and conceals just as a matter of ( ... )

GUH..I didn't know i loved angst that much..until naooW :O oh oh and this "Limits? Mistakes? I don't understand what you mean," said Peter, shaking his head again. "I'm not a mistake. Our love is not a mistake." It sounded incredibly lame, but it was true, so he had to say it. The time for pride was past.

OMG, it sounded just like Peter. I can imagine him saying that. They should never stop wanting each other. Great story again *claps* ♥

They should never stop wanting each other.
In my world, they really never do. They really do have true love - and it's an ugly, nasty, impossible mess. Hey, if true love exists, you don't get a choice as to who it is, and it's just their bad luck that they happen to be directly related by blood. (It's not as though this situation doesn't actually happen in real life, even if it really pretty much doesn't happen like this, of course. ^_^) The difference between the two is that Peter does believe in true love, and he's willing to fight for it; Nathan believes in free will... and he absolutely hates that in this situation, he's helpless.

Thanks!

Me again *waves shyly*
I have to admit that my breathing rate actually sped up while reading this. I got to the last line panting. Like woah.

And this may seem shallow compared to the profound comments on this page (no sarcasm here, they *are* really insightful), but Peter being made of waffles makes me happy!!!!! :)

Next Ritual please!

Good - that was the intended effect. I wrote the fight sequence all in a big rush, just to show how abruptly, but inevitably, things ended the way they did that weekend. If Nathan hadn't had that strange dream that night, their relationship would have turned out very differently - he's so comfortable with Peter by Saturday night that they would probably have become extremely regular lovers afterward. Instead, they both have to pretend that nothing happened because they're afraid of what it will do to each other. (Temporarily, o' course - by Christmas, it's on again, in a big way. Yeee haw!)

And waffles = happy sexytime love, so yes... Peter is made out of waffles. ^_^

I haven't thought of the next Ritual yet, actually - too many possibilities. Maybe I'll take take requests - or write to one of the theyreitalian prompts, since they're so delightfully open-ended.
