I love Peter's insistence that Nathan never hurt Heidi, because he will, just not in the physical way, and he'll hurt Peter, too, just not really in the physical way that Peter wants. Nathan's very good at destroying people without touching them, it seems.

I'm not as articulate as I would like. So, hopefully that makes some kind of sense.

It does make sense - and I hope it puts that weird sub-dom insistence on causing each other pain that they have into perspective. Nathan is a classic sadist, but he's lucky enough to have a willing outlet for his urges to sexual violence. It's really quite chilling. ^_^

Equally chilling here is Peter's masochistic streak, which runs deeper than even Nathan is willing to go sometimes. And how he's just as willing to dole it out, as we've seen before. It's this kind of love/anger/desperate need dynamic that's all very fascinating.

It's so interesting unraveling the psychology you've created.

Peter's masochism is really complicated. He is a genius at "topping from below", and at this point, he really enslaves Nathan in a big way. Poor Nathan doesn't have anything approaching the strength (or the moral fiber) to turn away from someone who will literally let him do whatever he wants, sexually speaking. Peter might protest, sure (and he does, quite a lot, you'll notice), but he will do it.

So wrong! So awesome! So fun!

It really is "play" for them, but as with most men, games are deathly serious underneath. In a way, this is also the most important day of Peter's life so far, too, and Nathan kind of instinctively understands that, which is why he set up the evening to go the way it did. Plus, planning a wedding is stressful, and the best cure for stress is... well, it's not exactly "hot, drunken sex with your brother", but for Nathan it kind of is. ^_^ He's a selfish prick, but he does feel love...
