OK, now, er, I'm writing this having just taken the harshest spoiler blow of my entire career in fandom (seriously), which necessitated the medical application of several shots of Tennessee bourbon, and between that and the news, I wasn't able to fully engage with the episode. Let me share in your sadness. I saw your recent post regarding the possibly shocking rumor, and I was afraid it would be him, hoped they were wrong, but of course as of today the news is out everywhere. I cannot imagine the show without his dynamic-sure, this season may have shown us mere glimpses, but I always thought it would come back to him and perhaps give us a great payoff after all of these episodes without his actual presence. I just want to strangle someone, Samuel-style, until they change their mind.

Regarding last night's episode, wow, Samuel keeps getting better and stranger, and I am so mesmerized by him. Heroes was my introduction to Robert Knepper and damn if he's not one of the best additions ever, I enjoy watching him in his wily, swaggering, almost rainmaker ways.

Ah, how could they? Like you, I find it hard to focus on the episode without thinking about the how and why, and the future of the stories to come. The loss of one character whose soul is entrenched into the lives of so many others, and perhaps a loss for all of us invested in their bonds.
