To attend Comic-Con International. I am going for Heroes. Sure, there's an immense amount of other nerdity that I'm excited to experience, and I am hoping to possibly do some biz while I'm there, but in all honesty, I'm going so I can bask in it, see the folks (SO MANY FOLKS! So many actors and writers and crew! Even Princess Hayden of Panettiere will be there, which I find absolutely astonishing - I didn't think she cared for fans much; maybe the studio is forcing her to do it! Bless her; I love her to death and I'm probably more like her than I am like Sunshine Grunberg), and meet some of my fellow fans. I'm tired of feeling like I live in a fandom vacuum; I really miss talking about the show. And I want to meet all of you, even if you're crazy! (Depending on the type of crazy, it might end with just meeting; I've got plenty of my own crazy that I have to manage.)
Anyway, it's a thrill. A scary thrill. But I'm calm about it now; I am packed, I am armed and ready to rumble. And I hope that I'll get a chance to meet Joss Whedon, too, or better yet Jane Espenson, or Eliza Dushku, or - wonder of wonders - Bryan Fuller, who is not in the program as being there, but the guy IS a huge nerd, after all. But I am there to get my hardcore Heroes fandom on. I'll see if I can get pictures.
I'll report back later.
