on protagonists, performances, and Peter

Thinking thinky thoughts. Having an inadvertent longish weekend (I had to go home from work early on Friday because I felt like poo) and spending it reading mass-market horror and watching scads and scads of TV, naturally my thoughts turn to Heroes. I came to Heroes as an Adrian Pasdar fan; I'd never heard of anybody else on the cast (or more properly didn't remember Ali Larter from her role in FINAL DESTINATION, because she looked like such a child in that movie!.. and didn't remember Jack Coleman from Dynasty, even though I adored his character, or Milo's from Gilmore Girls, ditto). It took about two commercial breaks before I was completely obsessed with Milo, and I felt like a real chump because he's so obviously designed to attract fangirl ovaries like a magnet grabs iron filings. I hate being told what to feel, but there was nothing I could do about him. It's like he was generated in a lab to appeal to me, and lots and lots of other females. (Oddly enough none of the gay dudes I know are all that into him, or Adrian, for that matter. Except for Milo's hair; many a queer guy wants that. They want to be him, not fuck him. Well, not any more than they want to fuck any other random cute young dude. Not sexist; fact.)

Did you ever read an interview where Milo (who's a huge Star Wars fan) compares S1 Peter with Ep. IV Luke?
Probably, without remembering it specifically. I wonder if Milo is consciously trying to evoke the young, whiny, angelically-gorgeous dunderhead Luke, but with less whining. :)
