Okay, I was up at insane hours last night...I had about two glasses of champagne and that (plus the dance music coming from a neighboring house through the aforementioned insane hours) kept me from going to sleep. Just celebrated with family, nothing major as I don't care much for New Year's Eve.
As a result, I slept through nearly all of the Winter Classic. :/ BUT it was nice to see Marco score the OT goal! It was also nice to find out that Pavelski made Team USA (as well as Kesler). :D Part of me wants to go to the game tomorrow night to see the crowd react to that--and possibly go into a U-S-A chant?--but I don't think that's happening. I DID go to the game against the Caps the other night, which was AWESOME. Only weird thing was I was sitting right behind the cameras in 215 ("oh, so that's why 'obstructed view' was on the ticket").
I looked up a few things just now to see what the Bruins had now as a result of the Thornton trade...from what I can tell it's Marco, Andrew Ference, Craig Weller and the rights to a Harvard player. They also got a pick in the Kobasew trade the other month, but they gave a pick back when they traded Primeau and Stuart to Calgary, so I don't know if that technically counts. Oh well, no matter, I just thought that was interesting.
Hope everyone's having a happy New Year! :D
