roadtrip babble and the past day's events

Drinking Sabra in the coffee again, so if I get sidetracked or start typing gibberish, I blame that. It's 60 proof. It WILL knock you on your ass if you're not careful. Anyway...

I wanted to go to Phoenix for a Sharks game, but with the dates being what they are (my dad's birthday, weekend after Thanksgiving, St. Patrick's Day) I don't think that's happening. I might be going in mid-November to watch them play Dallas and Chicago, however. I've also decided that instead of possibly going to Montreal (the Sharks are playing there on Feb. 28th!), I must go to Vancouver to attend the game there a week later. Not sure yet if I'm just buying one ticket or two, then seeing if someone will go with me. I don't mind heading up and staying there by myself at all, but I'd rather go with at least one other person to a game.

So on Friday, I was a total zombie at work. Just...super super tired. I tried watching TV for a while but realized after around 8 I was fighting sleep, so I just decided to go to bed then. I woke up at 11, tried going to bed again in the 1:00 hour, woke up again a couple of hours later and decided to stay up at that point because I was going to leave the house at 7am for Napa. Then one of my acquaintances noticed that I was online and that became an entertaining 90-minute IM ending around 5am, when one of my neighbors' car alarms went off. So at 7ish I left for Napa...basically a family day, watching my dad and sister coach at a softball tournament. I nodded off a few times during their first game at 9:30 because my sleep schedule was screwed up. We went out to lunch after that, then came back for the second game at 2:00. The weather in Napa was so weird today, the sun was hot and the wind was freezing. Add some dust from the softball field and that led to me falling asleep during that game as well. :P At least I managed to stay awake for the final game three hours later. They head back for an 8:00 game tomorrow. I haven't decided yet if I'm tagging along. I do think I'll be going to bed soon, at any rate...

softball, rambling
