Milk was a bad choice.

It's so damn hot. :P What I really hate is going outside where it's hot, then going into my office building where the AC is on full blast and I feel the need to wear a sweater. Constant temperature shock is not good, and it sometimes makes me sick. Anyway, I've been in Redwood City the past couple of evenings watching high school softball. I saw the last game yesterday and the first two games today. I left around the middle of the third game because I had no rooting interest, I was tired of the sun and hungry for something that wasn't in the hot dog/nachos category, and I didn't want to be around in case the gnats were back tonight. Blech. Anyway, I'll probably be back there on Saturday for some of the quarterfinals...the game I really want to see is the first one.

Hawes Schedule:

10am: Div. III - #5 Notre Dame Belmont (20-8) vs. #4 Half Moon Bay (22-5-1)
Noon: Div. I - #5 Carlmont (24-7) vs. #4 Leigh (27-7)
2pm: Div. II - #6 Palo Alto (19-8-1) vs. #3 Burlingame (18-10-1)

I got home in time to watch the season finale of The Office, which is good because I completely forgot to record it. I'm not going to go into detail now (does anyone else here even watch the show?), but I felt something was lacking from it. I mean, I wasn't necessarily disappointed, and it certainly wasn't a bad episode, but there were some things I didn't like that weren't necessary and I'm not sure I like where this is all going. It came to the point where I started writing a tiny fic tonight to make myself feel better about one subplot. I'm writing fic!? I haven't written fic in at least five years.

On to baseball. Over at Ladies... they do a weekly MLB ranking. This week's edition consisted of one-word comments and I was very amused. The word for the Giants? "Lincecum". So true. I listened to the game today, and he did well! ...but the bullpen followed up by laying an egg. Then, before I could finish explaining to someone what had happened in the bottom of the eighth, the ninth started and Lance Berkman knocked the first pitch he saw into the cove. Well, now that that's over with, bring on the White Sox. I tried making an icon from the AP photo of Lincecum from today's game, but when you shrink that picture enough, his mouth seems to have gone missing:

Then I started having fun with photos and tried out a bunch of filters on this picture of Marty Biron:

I like the one on the left the most. The one on the right makes me crave orange creamsicles. Mmm. On that note, good night everybody!
