The wind curled around Minl, sending a shiver through his wings, which fluttered a tense reaction to the impeding danger. Feeling that he still had a chance to surprise he stared at the ground, knowing that the creature flying toward him had but a moment before he would be on Minl. Tightening his eyes and gritting his teeth he reached for the hilt of his sword. He could feel the engraved handle, that his father had carved of the darkest Ferum tree. The blade was solid silver, the blade made of diamond, he unsheathed the sword and wipped around his hair flying furiously around as if it were a cape, his eyes bearing down on his advesary.
And nothing. Nothing was there to attack him, nothing at all. He realised that the wind was gone too and the darkness, he could no longer feel it, something had changed. Tightening his grip on his sword he quickly looked around to see if there was a sign of what had tried to attack him. Still there was nothing, the silence was almost too much for him to hanlde. Knowing that out there somewhere he was being stalked, hunted like the Gorvian bugs that he had led many expeditions to hunt their hides and meat.
Minl began to journey once again, his alertness hightened, he feared that he was still being stalked although he could not sense the evil presence, it was more of a comforting watchfullnesst that only a mother or father could provide, he smiled to himself. He was feeling that there was no danger yet the thought of sheathing his sword was a foolish; too many a fairy had died through careless acts.
....................
"My daughter," the king was shaking his head, surrounded by his remaining daughters, who each had a hand upon his shoulder. The tears filled his eyes and he flet the anger writhing inside him, he had lost his daughter and his son, but he had lost his daughter to his son.
His eldest doughter reached down and looked at her now ever aging father, placing her hand to his cheek she spoke. "My father, I have asked my husband to assist in the search of Minner. He will rally his forces. His numbers are strong and Luno will be all but disposed." She smiled and kissed her father on the head.
"My daughter, my fear is much deeper," his voice was quite and backed with pain and anger. "Luno has become a demon, and I fear that he has joined in with the darkness..." he trailed of into sobs of anguish and became hysteric. The daughters held tightly to him, and their love was for his pain and very little for the lost sister, save the eldest, whom greatly loved and cared for Minner.
Kissing her father again, the eldest daughter got to her feet and exited the hall, she would call to arms the greatest armies that the Fairy World had seen. Her husband was the king of the greatest Fairy Kingdom. The Darkness was the evil of all the Fairy worlds and Fuermen, her home, was the largest of the Fairy Worlds consisting of one Kingdom. Fuermen was the capital of the 13 Fairy planet that orbited the star Juna. Of those 13, 7 had a deep rooted presence of the Darkness.
The sleek black ship awaited the eldest sister in the courtyard, it immense size overtaking the mass of the yard. It was a beautiful ship that was the envy of her sisters. Her two younger sisters had married into wealthy families, however, their loyalty tothe ancient order of the Fairie was questioned. The Darkness, in order to survive had to reach into the Fairy world and there were many Fairy families willing, for the right price, change loyalties. Boarding the ship she informed the pilot to immediatley return to Fuermen.
Raising from the dirt courtyard, the ship impule engines pushed hard against the earth sending rumble to the bulidings and plants around. Through the open window, the king, now alone, for his other daughters had had to "return to get aid" from there own kingdoms. The king smiled, yet the feeling of loss still held tight to his heart.
