[Not really wanting to talk to you more than necessary. But this seems necessary.]

When did you last see her?

[excommunicated]

[There's silence on the line as Allen thinks about that question.]

...A couple of days ago maybe? In passing. We hadn't really spoken or seen each other properly since Saturday.

How about you?

[kandescence]

[He hates admitting this for anything when it comes to Allen but...]

Hn. The same.

And she said nothing? Nothing to indicate-- [That something was wrong, that there was somewhere she'd need to go? He leaves the thought unfinished for Allen to complete as he will.]

No. No, she didn't say anything. [Seemingly, Allen can pick up on the implications of what that last question was going to turn into even if the specifics weren't laid out. In some ways, no matter what was put at the end of that sentence the answer would be the same from him.]

I mean... She's been unhappy here, of course, who wouldn't be? Especially without the Supervisor here. But...she wouldn't have left without saying something, I'm sure of that. To you, or me, or Daisya. Maybe not to Link...

Which likely means--[That something else is going on, something against her will. It's Allen's turn to leave the sentence unfinished and with a quiet, almost subconscious knowledge that Kanda will know what he's getting at too.]

[Irrationally irritated by having to listen to Allen's thought processes. Or maybe he's just irrationally irritated by the sound of Allen's voice.]

Well there has to be some damn sign. She didn't just vanish.

I didn't say that she did just vanish. [Allen sucks a breath through his teeth to try and calm his desire to snippy--squabbling with Kanda over petty details wouldn't help to find Lenalee.] What was the state of her room? Did it look like there was any kind of struggle? Or anything usual? Someone would have said if they'd heard or seen anything, so there has to be something else to go on.

[Unnecessarily testy. Especially because he feels like he's already covered this ground (even if it wasn't with Allen).]

It was fine. Just as she would have left it. It's tidy.

If it looked like there'd been some trouble I wouldn't be sitting here talking to you on the damn phone, Moyashi.

Don't be obnoxious. [It seems Allen is equally on edge but he knows he doesn't have the information Kanda clearly does.]

If there's no sign of struggle then yes, something else did happen. Lenalee wouldn't have been taken somewhere against her will.

Is anyone else missing?

[There's a slight pause, then Allen clicks his teeth a couple of times.]

So it's only Lenalee you're bothered about keeping tabs on?

[And Kanda grinds his teeth. Goddamn but you're irritating, Moyashi.]

I haven't been "keeping tabs" on anyone!

So you're saying you wouldn't even know if Link had gone missing? Or Daisya? [He doesn't even bother to say 'Or me', that would just be too messy.] It's just interesting who you would or wouldn't notice as being gone, that's all!

Daisya isn't missing. And how the hell am I supposed to know what Link is doing? I'm not the one the Order assigned a shadow to. [Because you're the one who's the damn Noah. But he doesn't say that part at least not yet.]
