[It's mid-morning on Tuesday when Kanda walks into the front hall of the Dixon house, looking around somewhat bemusedly.
Late the night before, a message arrived at the boarding house where he and his de facto companion had been given rooms. It read simply: If you would both be so good as to relocate your residence to 513 W. Miskatonic Avenue. We will henceforth provide for your housing there. There are some people at the house you will be interested to see. -Elias Watney
And so this morning Kanda dressed himself in the gray trousers, white shirt, and blue waistcoat that comprise his single suit of respectable local clothes, packed up his very meager belongings, asked the landlady at the boarding house for directions, and made his way to the south edge of town where he and Heine have eventually found the appropriate address.
His first thought upon seeing the place is that they can't possibly be staying here, in a huge old mansion with sprawling grounds outside of it and a long, if somewhat overgrown, drive. It's a thought which is only confirmed when he steps inside.
But immediately he does get the impression that there are others present--not that the house is well lived-in by any means, but it does have a distinct feeling of life to it, even before he sees anyone there.
Stepping through the foyer, he looks up the staircase and towards the adjoining rooms, wondering just where he's meant to go now that he's here.]
