Becker rather thought that walking out and exploring the grounds was a good way of getting to know the place, and that's what he's doing right now. He's made it around the house, and met a few of the residents here and there with polite smiles. He's made it around the small gardens outside, and followed the sound of something breaking, or being torn apart loudly away from the house. With some sense of alarm, he withdraws his gun, takes off the safety and stealthily moves into the area without being noticed as much as possible.

When he saw that it was just a man -- rather queerly dressed, but they'd come from different times, haven't they? -- he felt rather relieved; though the fact that he was attempting to blow up the blocks of wood without modern weaponry, or any kind of weaponry he recognizes, is a little alarming. He can only hope that it's some kind of stress-reliever.

He puts the gun back into its holster and walks into the clearing just in time to hear him talk to himself. "I understand we've just arrived, but I never thought insanity was a side-effect of all that travelling. What are you up to, exactly? I think the house has enough firewood, as it is."

Daisya jumped a bit at the voice behind him and turned. He didn't recognize the speaker, but he did recognize the weapon he was carrying- at least somewhat, it looked like a gun. "Uh, it's not," he said. "Ask anyone an' they'll tell you I'm at least half crazy as it is, but- this time I was..." He looked down at the Bell and sighed, then clasped it on his hood again. "Nevermind. Name's Daisya- who're you?"

"Becker," he replied, leaving the 'captain' for now. It just doesn't do to explain something so important when he's so far removed from the only place where the title actually mattered. "Nice to meet you, Daisya. Bad luck of ours to get transferred to another world, but what can we do."

He gestures to the thing in his hand. "Is that a toy?"

"A toy?" Daisya spent about five seconds being outraged before reminding himself that obviously nobody not from his world would know what it is. "No," he said, jaw set and eyes hard. "'s not a toy. It's a weapon, as you can see from th' wood, there." He gestured to the wood he'd had set up, some with holes through it and some blasted apart, depending on the size.

A queer reaction, but alright, it seemed powerful enough as he'd indicated. Becker supposed that with the right hand, the toy -- weapon -- could be wielded to create enough damage. If it can manage so much with the wood, then he can just guess how much of a pain it'd be if it were human targets that he'd set up on the ground. "It's definitely cheaper than a gun," he said. Not as destructive, but it'd do the job. Probably good for one-on-one to a few enemies, not one to take down a group or so; then again, this, too, depends on the style in which the weapon was used. "What is it called?"

Daisya shook his head. "Y'can't buy it," he replied. "There's no price. 's called th' Charity Bell, an' it's my Innocence- my weapon, like I said." He waited to see what the newcomer would say- after all, he'd thought Innocence was a weird name for any sort of substance anyway. The weapon itself wasn't the bell- the Innocence turned the bell into what it wanted it to become. For Daisya, it became a soccer-ball type projectile that destroyed things with sonic resonance... at least, it was supposed to.

Innocence? "An odd name," he replies carefully. And also a rather immodest one. He hoped that the weapon was in no way a reflection of the man's virtues. He really didn't have to know whether he was innocent or not, and all the other connotations the word used. But now that he's trying not to think of it, he can't help but think about it.

"I suppose your world is quite acquainted with these kinds of weapons. And how exactly you obtain your ... innocence?"

Daisya shrugged. "It came t'me," he said. "Each Innocence shard has a compatible apostle, and once it finds that apostle it becomes a weapon that is the Will of God." It sounded very much like he was reciting that- mimicking someone, even, and as a matter of fact he was. "That's what th' ol' man told me when he first came t'Bodrum- that's where I'm from."

Bloody hell, they sounded like a cult. Didn't Taylor say that they nearly ran into something dangerous -- or they did ran into something dangerous, Becker can't remember -- because some cults decided to summon a thing or two in their spare time one evening? Becker's feeling some apprehension at the moment, trying to process Daisya's words. Apostles and Innocences. You'd think that somehow, he was stuck in medieval England, again. Best to be careful.

"How do you know what God's will is?"

The words sound so odd out of his mouth and Becker can't believe he just said it.

Daisya grinned and shrugged again. "I don't," he replies. "I just do what 'm told t'do an' go where I'm sent. ... but I figure as long as I've got th' Charity Bell, I'm doin' what God wants me t'do. I'm not a super religious kinda guy, y'see, but it seems dumb t'doubt where you get your power... an' I don't wanna end up bein' a Fallen."

He has no idea what he's saying, but Daisya seems to be pulling multiple references to religions that he doesn't really quite want to tackle with. He still remembered that conversation with Taylor about cults. If this man were involved in all that ruckus, he wouldn't be surprised, God's will or not.

Becker opts to accept the explanation without much fuss and stores it in his head later on for safekeeping.

"That's rather noble of you."

"No, 's more like self-preservation," Daisya said thoughtfully. "'m pretty sure if I didn't, I'd be dead right now, so... there's that."

He wanted the attention off of him, so he took the opportunity to ask the newcomer a few questions- because he certainly looked different. "What about you? Where'd you come here from an' when?"

That response was met with an elegantly raised eyebrow, but Becker isn't going to press. Religion wasn't his specialty; and until his arrival, it wasn't even an interest. If the man gets to be incredibly dangerous in the future, he'll just have to shoot him, problem solved. It's even easier now that he knows his face. Hopefully, it wouldn't get to that part.

He frowns, however, when the attention is shifted back to him. He's still trying to get used to the idea that he's traveled into a point in time where ... he actually has to stay. Traveling is fine; staying is another thing. That he's expected to deal with it is rather ridiculous, but what can you do? "I came from London, a century or two beyond the year today. I'm a soldier." That's about a pretty good description of things as he'll give. He's a soldier, anyway. It's just that he also happens to shoot dinosaurs for a living.
