Emmersing in more Duran Duran

Well, the latest album is out and it is fabulous! I am really very pleased with it and so excited as there seems to be quite the buzz for it. I caught the guys playing live on Good Morning America and the American Music Awards. I can hardly wait for my chance to see them live. They have such energy in their performances.

I went ahead and joined their official fan club. I am all paid up for a year and I must say they do offer all sorts of opportunities to win some cool give aways. I am so very excited but I think I am taking up quite a lot that would be easy Christmas gift giving to me.

Today while poking arount the DD web site I was checking out a section called "Ask Katey" where fans can submit questions for the band and hopefully get them answered and read previous questions that have been answered. I was wondering if Simon LeBon is still sailing, does he have a yacht. He sold Drum some years back. I found that he wrote some cool song called "Grey Lady of the Sea" and it was used with some TV thing about Drum. I went searching on google for a place to buy a copy of "Grey Lady of the Sea" and found that there is a video from the TV thing on You Tube.

Oh my!!!

I have never been sailing but I have to say that seeing those gorgous boats gliding across the open sea... sigh. It is one of those things that you just see the meerest glimpse and you know that you will love it. I don't want just one sailing venture as a passanger, I want to learn to sail. I want to learn then some day I will go to Scottland and if Drum is still available for chartered cruises I want to book it and go out on her.

*sigh*

I'm madly in love with a yacht. Go figure.

Here is the video. You can watch it while I go looking for a copy of "Grey Lady of the Sea". Note, towards the end of the video you see footage of a capsized boat. That is Drum. Her keep broke off in her first race. She was repaired and went on to compete in the Whitbread Around the world yacht race, and did respectibly well.
