The "Be My Icon" Project
Okay people, I need your help for an art/film project.
I've always been facinated by music videos and thanks to modern technology I can even make my own now. I have so many ideas but most of them I have not got the equipment, location, casting and funding to do. So so far, aside from starting the screen plays for a couple I haven't actually produced a video since I made a couple of fan vids. One of which is flawed and I accidently deleted the master copy so I get all frustrated and never quite get to the point of repairing it because that is a bit more complicated than I thought it would be.
Anyhoo...
Here in my first production I tried to inject and element of fun and humor. I didn't want it to be too sappy.
I did that on Windows Movie Maker and I can't tell you how many times I crashed that software and it was my first try at working with any sort of video editing software. I was moving faster than it was. I can't tell you how many hours I spent going online collecting the pictures for that work I also don't know how many I used but most of them are only on for a fraction of a second so it is a lot. I relaly LOVED making it.
Fan vids are the easiest for me to produce because it is so easy to collect the images for it. Google is my friend! I have another project idea for Orlando Bloom that will be nicely cheeky but I've done a couple of these and I just really wanted to do something more challenging. This is where you all come in.

A while back ago I got my hands on an advance copy (the sort that gets sent to radio stations) of a Duran Duran album that I had not ever heard before. The overall album theme is obsession so as an obsessed fan of several things you can imagine I took right to it.
One track in particular has inspired me. The song is called "Be My Icon" and it is just delightfully fun and warped. I have a vision to go with this song and it is one I can do but I would like some help with it. I want to make a tribute video to all of us, the fun, warped and obsessed fans. And I am talking for any fandom.
With that in mind I am inviting everyone I know to send to me images that you feel depict you and your obsession. They can be photos, video clips, drawings, paintings drawings, butter sculpture, scrimshaw. diarama, needle work etc etc. You can make something up just for this project or you can send something you already have. You can send multiple images.
One theme I would love to see many pictures of scary brides standing at the alters to their obsession.
I want numerous scary brides.
Any fandom goes.
I am not promising to use all images but I am going to try. The song is over four minutes long and pretty fast paced so I am going to need lots of images. I would also welcome recomendations of people to invite into the project. I want to be somewhat carefull of who gets invited to take part as a means of control what comes into my email box.
To give you an idea of what I am starting with here is the song. Ignore the video with the song, I just want you to be able to hear the song. I hope everyone will feel inspired to take part. If you have any questions run them by me.
