yesterday was my first time on that track, and it was a BLAST!
its actually quite a challenging track, because it has a shitload of elevation change to it, and some of the corners go up and then down, or down and then up.
i ran in the intermidiate run group with my friend thomas and his TII. his car has more power, better suspension, and waay stickier tires(i really felt the difference when i drove it)i was on his ass the whole time through the corners, but of course he was pulling on me in the straights. after driving my car, he said it was amazing that i was keeping up, considering everythign i was compensating for.
i definatly feel like my countersteer has improoved alot. i felt in control the whole time, even when the car started to slide. i really impressed myself with how fast i learned the course and adapted to things. as the day went on, i definatly noticed myself getting faster, and finding the right lines through all the corners. the chicane was a blast!! i went through it just like dave does, which scared the shit out of me the first time, until i kind of got used to it.
the tires dave hooked me up with really made a difference, i could feel them getting sticky and gripping the track in a way the old ones never could.
the car ran like a fucking freight train all day long. 100% all the time. everytime i asked her for more, she was right there, giving me what i needed, without a fight. all the blood, sweat, and tears i put into her is finally paying off.
the brakes were fucking amazing!! very very little fade if any at all, and solid right when i needed them. the new koyo worked wonders-after i tapesealed all the edges, my temps stayed at a consistant 200F all day long, even when i ran the car hard for half an hour straight chasing thomas around the track.
that was the best part of the day...for half an hour, it was just the two of us in our FC's, chasing down the track lap after lap after lap...our cars revving in unison, the most beautiful sound you could possibly immagine...
