Unhappy is the land that need heroes...

We've just been told at work that we're getting a new ship systems sector director. No, it's not Dr. Seuss. He's some hotshot from another division and, apparently, he's going to give us a shot in the arm. Good, now I'll have an excuse for not finishing my work on time...

"I would have finished my work, but I just got this shot in my arm and it hurts!"

The funny part is, is that the guy that's here now was brought in 2 years ago to do the exact same thing. Management is nothing around here, if not forgetful. I'm going to have to find an mp3 of the theme from Mad Max: Beyond Thunderdome..."We don't need another hero, we don't need to know the way home...". In the meantime, I'll pay homage to Bertolt Brecht for the title of this post. It's also a lyric line from the Simple Minds song 20th Century Promised Land.

So when I write in my journal about my misbehavior at work, you'll know one of the reasons why. My bosses are dopes.
