I've been given a great deal of responsibility at work on the new project, yet I've been told to hold my comments regarding the shortcomings of the software that we're using. We are quickly falling behind schedule, and when they ask me why, I'm not allowed to say it's due to 'the shortcomings of the software that we're using.' I know the main reason is that the project director was on the selection committee that picked this crap software that we're using. His concurrence with my remarks would be his admission that he made the wrong decision. It was also decided that we would outsource a portion of the work that really should have been done in-house. Now we're getting shite work from the subcontractors, and I have to jump on the company jet and fly to East Jesus to explain to a group of $8-an-hour community college-trained chimpanzees with zero design experience how to use a very sophisticated piece of software/hardware to develop the Navy's first stealth ship. And in approximately 10 minutes from now, I have to conduct a dog and pony show for the DoD and US Navy representatives...and it's gonna suck...and I have a headache.
